9 Proven Ways to Stop Your Child from Lying
We meet liars every day, but we don’t know what to do when they are our kids. Bright Side knows why children lie and 9 easy ways on how their parents could stop their children from lying. Did you know that your behavior in certain situations may also influence your child to hide the truth? TIMESTAMPS Kids know the consequences 1:02 Kids don't want to upset you 1:59 They don't lie but fantasize 2:51 Kids tell lies because they don't remember 3:41 They think that lying is polite 4:35 We are programming the right answer 5:15 Kids are afraid of changing roles 6:16 We tell lies ourselves 7:10 Kids think they are too silly 7:55 A Single Phrase to Stop a Child’s Tantrum 8:46 SUMMARY Let’s say your child got upset because a friend of theirs doesn’t want to share a toy with them. Don’t wait until the screams are out of control. Ask your child right away: "Is it a big, a middle-sized, or a small problem?" And when they reply, suggest thinking about the solution together, whatever size the problem might be. Perhaps they’d accept another toy? Or invite the friend to play together? There are many options! Children’s psychologists explain there are three basic reasons why this seemingly ordinary question calms kids down: • The child sees we accept and respect their feelings. • The question makes them stop to think and assess the situation. • By asking this question, parents invite the child to try and solve the problem themselves. Therefore, by asking this question and calmly talking with your little one for a few minutes, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and nerves and will also gain their confidence. What Will Happen If a Spider Bites You
You probably don't need to worry too much about a regular spider bite unless you have an allergy. But a venomous spider is a different story. Allergic reactions from them are more severe. Venomous spiders are easy to identify by their pattern. For instance, a black body with red "hourglass" coloration on the underside of its abdomen signifies a black widow. And the venom of a black widow spider causes immediate pain at the bite site and then spreads to other areas of the body. The black widow is one of the most venomous spiders in the world. Poison 15 times more potent than a rattlesnake’s! They won’t touch you if you don’t touch them – that’s why they prefer quiet, undisturbed areas like attics and sheds. But if they feel threatened – or worse, she’s got eggs to protect! – this normally shy 8-legged introvert will come for you! So what happens to your body when a spider bites you? What It’s Like to Drive Monster Machines – The ...
Driving the biggest machines on Earth—like massive dump trucks, cranes, and bulldozers—feels a bit like being in a spaceship on wheels. These monster machines are built to handle tough jobs, like digging up giant pits or hauling tons of rock, and they can be as tall as a building! The driver’s seat is way up high, giving you an impressive view over everything, but it also takes some serious skill to control all that power. The controls inside can look like a mix between a car and a cockpit, with lots of buttons, levers, and screens to monitor. Maneuvering these machines is slow and steady, and it can take a lot of concentration to make sure everything goes smoothly and safely. For people who drive them, it’s a thrilling, one-of-a-kind experience! What Will Happen When Solar Storm Hits in 2025
In 2025, scientists expect the Sun to hit its solar maximum, the peak of its 11-year activity cycle. During this time, it’ll throw out powerful solar storms, which are bursts of energy and particles from the Sun. If a big solar storm hits Earth, it could disrupt satellites, mess up GPS, and even knock out power grids temporarily. Thankfully, Earth’s magnetic field acts like a shield, protecting us from the worst effects. However, the northern and southern lights (auroras) could light up the skies in places they’re not usually seen. While it’s not the end of the world, scientists and engineers are keeping a close watch to minimize any problems these solar storms might cause. #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... NASA Says We Are Losing Stars in Our Skies
Did you know that the beautiful Milky Way might soon disappear from our night sky? Light pollution, caused by all the bright lights in cities, is making the stars harder to see. Scientists say that in just 20 years, most people on Earth won’t be able to spot the Milky Way without special trips to remote areas. It’s like losing a piece of cosmic history right above our heads! Luckily, some places are working to reduce light pollution by using dimmer, shielded lights to protect the view. If we act now, future generations might still get to enjoy stargazing and the magic of our galaxy. 🌌✨ Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... How Birth Order Can Shape Your Personality
Have you ever heard that the oldest kid in a family tends to be very responsible, while children who have no siblings are far more likely to be selfish and demanding? Are these merely stereotypes, or is it really true? Today, we’ve decided to find the answer to this intriguing question How Birth Order Can Shape Your Personality? The birth order theory began in the late 1920s with Alfred Adler, Sigmund Freud’s friend, and colleague. Adler believed that the order in which you are born into a family inherently affects your personality. According to him, the oldest child, for example, tends to be conservative, power-oriented, and predisposed toward leadership. Do you think it's true? TIMESTAMPS: The first-born child 0:38 The middle child 0:55 The youngest child 1:21 The only child 1:53 How birth order affects IQ scores 2:24 How birth order affects your personality 3:13 Is birth order really that important? 3:48 #birthorder #siblings #yourpersonality SUMMARY: According to Alfred Adler, firstborns grow up to be caring, more willing to become parents, and more likely to take initiative. The middle kids in a family often tend to be ambitious, but they are rarely selfish. They are also more likely to set unreasonably high goals for themselves. Last-borns are usually highly motivated to surpass their older sisters and brothers. They achieve big success and earn recognition in their chosen field very often. Being overly pampered by their parents, the single kid expects pampering and protection from everyone around, too. Dependency and self-centeredness are the leading qualities of their lives. Older children generally show higher performance on intelligence tests. However, the scientists found no birth-order effects on emotional stability and imagination. Firstborns tend to be more honest and dominant. However, they are also less sociable and less resistant to stress. Middle children tend to be more conscientious and diligent. Birth order may have a certain impact on your personality or intelligence; however, don’t forget that parent-child relationships and the upbringing that children receive in their homes are much more important factors in shaping their lives as individuals. 9 Beauty Rules No Royal Lady Would Ever Break
Every girl (or almost every girl) wants to become a princess, and in case it’s impossible by blood or by marriage, you can still look and behave like one if you follow some simple rules of the royalty. Somehow, the royal ladies' outfits, hair, and makeup always look flawless no matter what. The reason is these secret beauty rules that royal women continue to live by every day to always look perfect. If you want to look like a princess, your makeup should look absolutely natural. To achieve this, you can apply some concealer and a matte foundation. A filler will help you to define your eyebrows. Apply some light matte eyeshadow. Coat your eyelashes with two layers of mascara. If you want to look like a royal lady, visit a nail studio on a regular basis or care about your nails at home. It's obvious that royal ladies have professionals working on their hair, cutting, treating, coloring, and styling it. But even without a team of professionals, you can take a good care of your hair. Visit hair salon at least several times a month to have your hair professionally cut and colored. As for a royal outfit, the main rule here is the mixture of conservatism and elegant fashion. Princesses are famous for their classic and chic style of dress. However, that doesn't mean that you can't choose clothes as smart and stylish as royal ladies wear. You need to learn to handle everything that comes your way with grace. Don't hurry to react negatively, compose yourself, breath in, breath out. Don't forget about the way you stand, sit, and move. If you stand, your posture should be straight. If you sit, one ankle should be put behind the other one or your knees and ankles should be pressed together and slightly slanted to one side. Avoid slouching by all means. Music: Runnin Partner https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/... What to Do When You See a Spider
If you’re scared of spiders, you’re not alone. In fact, in the US, 1 in 10 people are affected by a phobia, and 40% of those phobias are related to bugs. If one of those people is you, here’s the bad news – there are nearly 40,000 different types of spiders in the world, and almost all of them are venomous. Of course, very few of those venomous spiders produce a poison toxic enough to cause harm to humans at all. And since the use of antivenom became commonplace in the 1950’s, the instances of people falling victim to seriously dangerous spiders are practically non-existent. Which isn’t to say you shouldn’t be careful if you come across any of those known to be toxic to humans. So, what should you do the next time you see one? TIMESTAMPS: Do spiders want to bite you? 🕷 1:33 200 species of bugs in your house right now 2:48 What if you see a spider in your home 😱 4:17 What to do if you have a bite 5:06 The weirder the story the better 6:07 #spiders #insects #brightside SUMMARY: Spider bites of any kind aren’t as common as you would think, considering the countless urban legends and stories on the internet. And even if a spider wanted to bite a person, few of them have teeth strong enough to puncture the skin. Spiders are a vital part of not only the outdoor ecosystem, but the indoor one as well. Inside your house right now there are anywhere from a dozen to 200 species of arthropods going about their business, and you weren’t even aware of any of them until right now. Most of these spiders live quiet, happy, secretive lives out of our sight and mind. The most common are “cobweb” and “cellar” spiders. Less common are barn spiders, who write messages in their webs to help the talking pig they’ve befriended win a medal at the state fair. Spiders will chow down on just about anything they catch. And most of the bugs they catch are probably more annoying, or likely to harm you, than it is. If you find yourself in the rare position where a spider does manage to get a piece of you, here’s what you want to do. First, if you can, don’t slap or squash, but trap it. Try to isolate it and get it into a container or baggy. This way you can identify the species and figure out what treatment, if any, will be needed. Usually, an ice pack is the only treatment you need - however, if you do experience any symptoms like nausea, sweating, muscle spasms or increasing pain, go get medical help right away. This River Is Even More Dangerous Than the Amazon
Some rivers around the world are even more dangerous than the Amazon! First, there’s the Congo River in Africa, with its terrifyingly deep waters and strong currents that could sweep away even large boats. Then there’s the Nile River, which might seem calm in parts but has deadly crocodiles and hippos ready to defend their territory. The Mississippi River in the United States can look peaceful, but it has strong currents, hidden whirlpools, and frequent floods that make it hazardous. Over in Asia, the Yangtze River is another risky river with sudden floods and currents that have taken countless lives. And finally, the Mekong River, stretching through multiple countries, is filled with underwater hazards and giant catfish that could rival anything in a scary river story! #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Listen to Bright Side on: Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... Scientists Dug the Deepest Hole But Something B...
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j The Guinness World Records award for "the deepest human invasion into the Earth's crust" goes to the Kola Superdeep Borehole. Its depth is 7.4 mi. You can find it in the icy part of Russia where the winter temperature of -40°F is a common thing. Local scientists started to dig it in the 1970s. The grand plan was to reach the depth of 9.3 mi. It was a purely scientific project to study the Earth's crust and maybe get to the hot mantle. Up to the depth of 4.3 mi, the drill easily coped with granite rock. Then, denser layers came and broke the drill. The scientists had to change the drilling pattern. In the end, it resembled a tree with many branches. The deeper it went, the hotter it became. The temperature went up to 350°F. The equipment was constantly out of order and work was stopped completely in 1992. The place is now abandoned, overgrown with moss and rust. But it has its fair share of myths surrounding it too... #brightside TIMESTAMPS: The Kola Superdeep Borehole 0:06 A hole in the bottom of the ocean 3:46 The enchanting brilliance of diamonds 5:13 The longest oil wells 6:25 The largest diamond in North America 7:06 The deepest water well in the world 8:14 The deepest underground station 8:35 The deepest point in the ocean 8:54 How to dig water? 9:32 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: / brightside Instagram: / brightgram 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

A 33-Solar-Mass Black Hole Has Been Discovered ...
Scientists have recently found a black hole with a mass 33 times that of our Sun, and it's surprisingly close to Earth—relatively speaking, of course! This massive black hole, located in a nearby galaxy about 1,500 light-years away, is the closest one we’ve ever discovered. What's really cool is that it’s a “dormant” black hole, which means it's not actively pulling in matter or creating those giant, glowing energy jets we sometimes see in space. Researchers used a powerful telescope to detect it by watching how its gravity affected a nearby star. Discovering black holes like this helps scientists understand more about how stars live and die. It’s a bit spooky, but luckily, even though it’s close by cosmic standards, it’s far enough away that we’re completely safe! Zombie Stars That Are Eating Each Other Alive
Brace yourself for a cosmic horror story: zombie stars that refuse to die and are eating each other alive! In deep space, some stars explode in a blast called a supernova, but instead of disappearing, these “zombie” stars keep coming back. They pull in energy and matter from a nearby star, feeding on it like a space vampire, until they’re powerful enough to explode again! Each time they explode and revive, they get hungrier, pulling in more material from their companion in a strange, deadly dance. Astronomers are fascinated by these undead stars, watching the cosmic cannibalism unfold. It’s a wild and haunting sight, proving that even stars can have an afterlife! Could You Get to Other Continents If the Oceans...
Imagine if all the oceans suddenly vanished—could you just walk to other continents? Well, without water, you’d see giant valleys and rugged, rocky plains that were once the ocean floor, connecting places like North America to Asia! But getting across wouldn’t be a smooth stroll; the ocean bed is full of deep trenches, towering ridges, and endless mud that would make travel nearly impossible. Plus, with no oceans, Earth’s temperature would soar, turning these dried-out areas into scorching deserts. You’d face wild challenges like sandstorms, lack of food, and barely any fresh water to survive. So, technically, continents would be connected—but it’d be an extreme journey only the toughest explorers could handle! #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Listen to Bright Side on: Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... When You Travel, Your Body Language Really Matters
When you travel, your body language can actually say a lot about where you’re from, even if you don’t realize it. For example, people from different countries use their fingers differently to count—some start with their thumb, while others begin with their pinky. Americans might wave differently or give a thumbs-up, which can mean something completely different in another country. Nodding or shaking your head doesn’t mean the same thing everywhere either; in some places, nodding can mean “no”! Gestures like pointing or making a circle with your fingers (like the “OK” sign) might be seen as rude in other cultures. So, being aware of these differences can help you avoid misunderstandings and connect better with people when you travel. #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... The Island So Dangerous, Even Locals Won’t Go N...
Snake Island, off the coast of Brazil, is one of the scariest places on Earth because it’s packed with deadly snakes! It’s home to the golden lancehead viper, a rare species whose venom is so toxic it can melt human flesh and cause severe injury within minutes. There are reportedly one to five snakes per square meter on the island, so it's almost impossible to walk around without running into one. The government has banned people from going there, and even locals are too afraid to visit. Only a few scientists and the Brazilian Navy are allowed on the island, but they have to take extreme precautions. Snake Island is so dangerous it’s like something out of a movie! What Happens When a Bird Flies Into a Plane Engine
Are you afraid of flying? Or maybe you’re really fascinated with aviation? Then there are all kinds of questions running through your mind. Like what would happen if a bird flew into a plane’s engine? Or if the pilot can do us all a solid and fly around that terrifying turbulence! Did you know that pilots sometimes take naps while flying the plane? Actually, not all countries feel the same way about this. In the US, for example, it’s illegal for pilots to take naps, but in the UK, controlled naps are allowed. It's kinda shocking, right? TIMESTAMPS: What if a bird flew into a plane’s engine? 0:51 What if a plane flies too high in the sky? 3:17 What if the pilot falls asleep? 4:20 Can pilots fly around turbulence? 5:07 Why do planes dim the cabin lights when landing or taking off? 6:33 #planes #fearofflying #aviophobia Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: If a bird unfortunately flies right into a plane’s engine, this feathered creature can actually disable it! But most aircraft have at least 2, sometimes up to 4, working engines, and pilots can still fly the plane after losing one of the engines if they have to. Planes fly pretty high as it is – most cruise at about 35,000 feet. That’s roughly 6.6 miles up in the air! It’s hard to believe that a plane could fly any higher, but it actually can. As a plane ascends more and more into the atmosphere, the air becomes less dense, meaning the engine sucks less air in, limiting its ability to climb higher. On really long flights, there are always two pilots. So if one has to take a quick nap, there’s always someone still flying the plane. If you’ve ever flown on a commercial airline at dusk, nighttime, or early morning, you’ve probably noticed that during takeoff and landing, the cabin lights go dim. This has nothing to do with the passengers’ comfort – it’s actually a safety precaution. Older children can be told about the concepts of sperm and egg cells. Will I marry Mom When I grow up? Almost all kids start asking this question when they first start feeling attracted to the opposite sex. Gently say “no." Why are boys and girls different down there? Try to tell them about this without awkwardness – a child’s interest in their genitalia is entirely natural. Children subconsciously feel guilty when their parents argue. It’s important for them to understand that it’s not their fault. Don’t shush your child if they draw attention to people in a public place as this leads to the formation of intolerance. Siblings always compete for the love of their parents. You shouldn’t use one child as an example for their brothers and sisters or say that you love one more because they’re more successful at school. Explain to your child that the treatment is necessary. Don’t ever make fun of them for feeling frightened. Don’t lie to your children about death. They can accept the truth. Explain that your job is something you have to do. Place emphasis on the joy of when you come home and see each other again. Don’t be scared to admit that you’re not ideal. It’s important for your child to understand that they shouldn’t copy everything their parents do. Take your child’s fears seriously, and work out how to turn bad things into good ones together.
