10 Expert Tips on How to Fight Gout Attack
What is gout? This is basically joint inflammation in the ankle, wrist, elbow, knee, or (more often than not) in the big toe. It’s caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood, a condition called hyperuricemia. The intense pain it brings along can last for days, weeks, and even months on end! If left untreated, it can lead to joint deformities or even physical disability. Like any health problem, gout doesn’t discriminate. It can affect anyone, including famous actors, athletes, and writers. In fact, Benjamin Franklin missed a lot of the meetings that were held to draft the Declaration of Independence because of gout! TIMESTAMPS: What gout is 0:28 Get rid of excess weight 0:55 Check your family history 1:50 It occurs differently in men and women 2:07 Certain medications can trigger gout 2:40 Certain health conditions can increase the risk of developing gout 3:09 Change your diet 3:31 Eat more foods that can help you manage gout attacks and pain 4:44 Make use of natural remedies 6:52 Be careful about exercising 8:03 Some health warnings about using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs 8:57 #goatattack #kneepain #jointpain Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: The body produces more insulin when people are overweight or obese. If you have high levels of insulin in your body, it slows down the elimination of the uric acid that causes gout. Genetics also play a role here. If someone in your family has had gout, you do have a higher risk of getting it too. Gout occurs differently in men and women. It’s the main cause of inflammatory arthritis for guys in their 30s and 40s, although men in their late 50s can also get it sometimes. Medications like diuretics (or water pills), low-dose aspirin, immunosuppressants like cyclosporine and tacrolimus, as well as drugs containing salicylate have been found to trigger gout attacks. Gout is historically known as the “disease of kings” or “the rich man’s disease” because it’s triggered by foods that only wealthy people could afford in the past: seafood and red meat. Changing your diet doesn’t mean just cutting a bunch of bad foods out of it. Here are some products you should eat more of to prevent gout attacks. When you’re under attack, doctors recommend staying in bed and putting ice on the affected area. You may lessen the pain by removing any clothes on the joint that’s flaring up. Experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that adults should be physically active for at least 2½ hours per week. 6 Signs You’re Dealing With a Toxic Person
How to know that you’re dealing with a toxic person? They do exist, and chances are we’ve met one or 2. Sometimes they might not realize they’re causing harm to others. There are situations that might be putting us at risk and, without us knowing it, damaging our sense of worth. Fortunately, there are warning signs you can look for to see if the person you’re dealing with is a toxic person. #toxicpeople #toxicrelationship # TIMESTAMPS: Toxic people play the victim 1:02 Emotional abuse 2:52 Pathological liars 4:07 Toxic people seek to control 5:25 People who don’t respect boundaries 6:32 Negative people 7:59 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/... SUMMARY People who struggle with the victim mentality don’t think they have power over their lives, and they blame other people and circumstances for how unhappy they are. They also avoid responsibility. Have you ever been in a situation where you believed someone owed you an apology but, by the end of the conversation, you ended up apologizing instead? That is a classic victim attitude, in which they flip the situation. Emotional abuse can be one of the most painful forms of violence and a killer of self-esteem. It can be verbal: yelling, belittling, criticism, and accusing. It can also be subtle: intimidation, manipulation, and the “silent treatment.” Pathological liars take lying to the extreme. A pathological liar is someone who constantly tells lies, usually in an effort to protect their image. They are masters of manipulation and can lie straight to your face. They tend to be impulsive people with a deep need to impress. Their lies might not always have a purpose, and sometimes they might lie to you just because they can. Some toxic people can be master manipulators, and they are clever about hiding their true intentions. Controlling people might want to know where you are and who you are with. They might be vocal about it or try to control you in more subtle ways. Toxic people project their vulnerabilities and insecurities onto another person in the form of anger and bullying. They are incapable of respecting boundaries. They can’t process their own toxicity, so they deal with it by putting it onto someone else. Everyone can feel negative sometimes. But toxic people wish to share their negativity with the world, and it can spread like wildfire. They can only speak of bad news or negative stories and complain nonstop. A One-Day Starvation Secret Got the Nobel Prize
You probably know that most tissues in your body regularly replace their cells with new ones. Different organs need their own time to renew completely. And some tissues don't replace their cells at all. But have you ever wondered where the dead cells of your body end up? Dr. Yoshinori Ohsumi, a Japanese cell biologist, spent years studying how human cells get rid of their waste. If this process in the body doesn't work correctly, a person can develop type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, some age-related diseases, and even cancer. And it turned out that when you fast, your cells live longer and produce more energy! 9 Manicure Mistakes You Didn't Know You Were Ma...
How to make a manicure correctly? According to statistics from beauty industry experts, the average woman spends approximately $500 per year on her nails. Since nail care and nail art have become popular on social media, it has grasped the attention of the masses — and they’ve taken an interest in adapting it to their beauty routine! But giving yourself a nice manicure without knowing some key techniques can ruin your entire image or, even worse, put your health at risk. For example, sanitizing your tools should be the first step and your number one priority. According to research, the area around and under our fingernails stores the largest amount of harmful bacteria. If these tools are not being washed with disinfectant, you are allowing the spread of germs and risking contamination. In addition, storing tools in a sealed bag allows bacteria to fester. Here are 9 manicure mistakes that are often overlooked. TIMESTAMPS: Not washing your tools 0:59 Cutting your cuticles 1:35 Not using a base coat 2:11 Applying thick coats of polish 2:40 Using Q-tips 3:20 Filing back and forth 3:56 Not applying polish under the edges 4:32 Drying nails in cold water 5:02 Shaking your nail polish bottle 5:38 #manicuremistakes #manicureroutine #nails Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: Cutting your cuticles is a major health risk because you leave unprotected cuts on your fingers, which could potentially get infected. Moreover, when the cuticles start growing again, they come back flaky and looking messy, which completely ruins your look. Base coats were created to bind with your natural nails and make your manicure last up to one week longer. This happens because our nails produce natural oils, which prevent nail polish from binding well with the nail. Thick coats of nail polish take twice as long to dry (approximately 5–6 minutes), which is a recipe for a smudging disaster! In general, nail polish is not designed to dry out when it’s thick, which protects it when it’s housed in the bottle. Q-tips are proven lifesavers, especially when it comes to makeup, and that’s why we incorporate them into our manicure routine as well. When nail polish gets onto the skin around the nail, we just get a Q-tip and start wiping. Filing back and forth causes micro-cracks to appear, which makes the application of nail polish look brittle and uneven. It also weakens the nails, causing them to break more easily. Applying nail polish around and under the edges of your nails will prevent your manicure from flaking during various activities that include water, especially doing the dishes and washing your hair. When we do these activities, water gets trapped between the nail and the nail polish, causing it to lift and chip around the top edges. Drying your nails in cold water is a widely known tip for people who want to dry their freshly polished nails even faster. However, this is just a myth! Cold water hardens the nails instead of drying them. Instead of shaking your nail polish, roll it slowly and horizontally in your hands! That's What Happens When You Put the Wrong Fuel...
Picture this: you’re driving on a highway, and suddenly see something you’ve failed to notice earlier: your gas tank is almost empty! You drive to the closest gas station, only to find they have no other gas but 87. Should you pump it inside your car or not? What’s the difference between those numbers? In fact, gasoline can actually be different, and it’s not one type fits all. In the US, the most typical numbers you’ll see are 87, 89, and 92. In other parts of the world, the numbers can vary, but most common ones are 91, 95, and 98. The higher the number value, the higher the cost of the fuel, so it might seem natural to choose the cheapest one and go with it, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. A Black Hole That Broke the Science
This year, on April 10th, scientists were finally able to do the unthinkable: they allowed humanity to look straight into the abyss of a super-massive black hole and take a photo like a tourist attraction! But even after these accomplishments, we still don’t know much about black holes at all, since one of them has challenged the whole scientific community with new impossible feats. In the middle of July 2019, black holes puzzled astronomers once again. New observations were made possible, thanks to the famed Hubble telescope, by a team of European scientists. Their study showed that a relatively small black hole contradicts all our expectations by almost completely mimicking its much bigger siblings. TIMESTAMPS: What is a black hole? 1:01 How do any object can become a black hole 💫 1:31 Why black holes are called black 3:02 Why the NGC 3147’s black hole is so unique 4:26 #blackholes #universe #brightside SUMMARY: What is a black hole? It’s the tiniest and heaviest object possible in the universe. It can swallow entire stars with ease and is absolutely invisible to the human eye. Every black hole was once a shining star, just like the others you see in the night sky. The core, and center of mass, of this black hole is called a singularity. The mass of this thing can be from hundreds of millions of the Sun’s mass, to hundreds of billions! In fact, the density is the most exciting thing about black holes. You see, it turns out that any object can become a tiny black hole if compressed enough. The surrounding space near the singularity is the notorious event horizon. This is exactly why black holes are called black, though it’s not entirely true. Accretion disks consist mostly of superheated gas and space dust, and the speed of their movement increases the closer they get to the event horizon. The supermassive black hole at the core of IC 1101 suits its huge galaxy well. This terrifying monster is heavier than about 40 billion masses of the Sun. The Milky Way is just 100,000 light-years across – sounds like nothing when compared to the supposed 6 million light-years of IC 1101’s diameter. The most notable black hole in the Milky Way is in the Sagittarius constellation, right in the middle of the spiral of stars that our galaxy’s basically made of. And then we have spiral galaxy NGC 3147, 130 million light-years away from us. This galaxy is small, and not dense enough to constantly feed something as big and powerful as a supermassive black hole. It’s expected that black holes, in a position this unfortunate, can’t have furious swirling accretion disks around them. But as they say, there’s no negative result in scientific research. Sometimes unexpected findings can teach us a lot more than pure success. For now, no one knows how this starving black hole can support this disk. 6 Face Care Tips to Make Your Skin Look Just Pe...
We’ve put together this guide to face masks that will make your face look young, beautiful and well cared for. Building your perfect skin-care routine can be very easy! Women all over the world are basically in an endless search for products and procedures that will make their skin look beautiful. Who doesn't want to have that healthy glow, right? Of course, it's important to have a good menu full of vitamins, but there are some face care tips, that can help you achieve the perfect skin. TIMESTAMPS Aspirin and lemon anti-aging mask 0:49 A revitalizing mask of yogurt, honey, and aspirin 2:04 A moisturizing mask 3:39 An exfoliating mask 4:43 A glowing-skin mask 5:53 A mask for facial hair removal 7:03 SUMMARY Aspirin can be considered a chemical peel for your face because it contains salicylic acid. At the same time, lemon juice contains Vitamin C, which is known to have a great effect on the skin, brightening and smoothing it. When you mix these two together, you will be pleasantly surprised with the final result! It's important for your skin to relax from time to time after an all-day makeup. One of the essential steps of having a good skin is skin nutrition. This applies to both your everyday menu and your skincare routine. Don't forget to do a revitalizing mask at least once a week so your skin would get all the important components it needs. You can try different masks, but we'll tell you about one amazing one in particular. All you will need is 5 aspirin pills, 1 tablespoon of yogurt and half of tablespoon of honey. As you can see, all the ingredients are affordable, so it won't be difficult to get them. The preparation is simple as well, just grind up the aspirin, and mix it thoroughly with the other ingredients. Moisturizing is one of the most important parts of any skincare routine. It helps your skin keep a great balance between being too dry and too oily, which in both cases brings different kinds of problems to your skin. Plus, by regular moisturizing, you help your skin stay younger for longer. So, this next mask is an exceptional moisturizer, which will leave your skin smooth and soft. Scrubbing is another important part that should make its way into your skincare routine. Don't do it too often, though; it is better to scrub your skin one or two times a week. You can buy a certain product to your liking or use natural products. And the last choice is just as good as the first. And we have a great must-have recipe that you can try. Who doesn't want to have this natural, healthy skin glow, right? Pretty much everyone will say about the natural glow while describing their idea of perfect skin. There are a good number of products from famous and not-so-famous brands that claim to leave you with beautiful looking skin. But natural products are no less productive. And this next mask proves this point! You'll need only two ingredients – a banana and butter. A lot of girls deals with the problem no one talks enough about – facial hair. Everybody has a different approach to it, but, if you're thinking about changing things up a little bit and trying something new, we present you a mask that can help you remove the facial hair quickly and effectively. And just like it was before, all the ingredients are natural! And no, you won't need aspirin this time. This mask contains 0,02 pounds of lemon juice, 1 cup of water and 0,06 pounds of flour. It doesn't matter what flour you will use, but preferably it should be a chickpea one. Do you know any other effective recipes for a beautiful, healthy and glowing skin? But if your skin has become completely white compared to how you usually look, this is a sign that you need vitamin B12. If you’ve noticed puffiness around your eyes and in your limbs, your body might be lacking iodine. Other signs that you have a lack of this nutrient are chronic fatigue, drowsiness, dry skin, and weight gain. Pale lips can be a sign that a person lacks iron. Low arterial pressure and regular colds can be further signs of this. Bleeding gums can indicate a lack of vitamin C. A reduced amount of this can lead to weak immunity, muscle pain, and problems with teeth. Dry, brittle hair covered in a significant amount of dandruff could be a sign that you lack biotin, known as vitamin B7. This is often the result of using antibiotics. 30 Facts You Never Knew About Your Body
30 incredible facts about the human body that will deeply impress you. We bet you’ve never heard about half of them! We tend to think that we know our bodies perfectly. We are aware of how they work and what kinds of processes occur in them every second. In fact, the human body is one complex and mysterious mechanism that sometimes confuses even the most qualified specialists — doctors and scientists. SUMMARY 1. A tongue print is absolutely unique. 2. A single hair can hold the weight of a hanging apple. 3. The number of bacteria in a person’s mouth is equal to the number of people living on Earth, or even more. 4. Nails that are soft and brittle, with no moon, could indicate an overactive thyroid. 5. The speed of an incoming brain impulse is about 400 km/h. 6. There are not just four different blood types as we used to think but in fact 29! 7. Over the course of just one day, our blood ’runs’ the distance of 11,9999 miles (or 19,312 kilometers). 8. Men also have glands that can produce milk, but its production represents an abnormality for the male body. 9. A human makes approximately 20,000 breaths per day. 10. Almost all people in the world have special mites on their eyelashes called Demodex. 11. A human eye can distinguish up to 10 million different colors. But our brain can’t remember all of them. 12. Our ears keep on growing throughout our lives with almost unbelievable speed — a quarter of a millimeter per year! 13. The heart beats 35 million times a year. 14. Every day, the human body loses about one million skin cells — that amounts to 4,5 lbs. (or 2 kilos) every year. 15. 1 square centimeter of your skin contains around a hundred pain sensors. 16. This might be very surprising to some, but 26% of men also experience PMS. 17. The average person consumes about 77,000 lbs. (or 35 tons) of food during his or her life. 18. 12 Ways to Escape the Heat If You Don’t Have an...
How to Survive the Summer Heat without an AC. How can you survive when the temperature outside gets up to 100°F and you have no air conditioner at home? We have searched for simple and super effective ways to escape the sweltering heat that won’t cost you anything but will work their magic. The lowest temperature of the day is usually between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., so open your windows in the morning and after 8 p.m. To prevent the sun’s heat from entering your house, it’s important to use the right curtains. In the past, before air conditioners existed, people used to wet their floors. The room temperature would drop immediately, and it would be comfortable enough to fall asleep. A great way to cool down your bed is to put your sheets and pillowcases in the fridge. Before you go to sleep, make your bed with them. TIMESTAMPS Close the windows in the morning. 1:12 How to choose the right curtains. 1:37 Throw away the carpets, rugs, and sofa pillows. 2:23 How to cool down a room with a wet towel and wet floor. 3:12 Use ceiling fans. 3:48 How to make a homemade air conditioner. 4:50 Change your bed linen. 5:43 How to choose the perfect sleepwear. 6:23 Shut off the lights when not in use. 7:17 Know your cooling spots. 7:39 How to stay hydrated. 8:00 How to adjust the AC settings. 8:54 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/... SUMMARY -Shut the windows when the temperature outside is higher than 75°F, and open them when the temperature drops below that. -Go for linen fabrics with light neutral colors. This type of cloth is made from eco-friendly materials. Moreover, it’s hypoallergenic and mold resistant. -If you don’t want that heat to stay inside your home, it’s better to get rid of things that collect dust: carpets, rugs, and sofa pillows. This will make the air cleaner and cooler. -When airing your room, wet a towel, and hang it in front of an open window. It will help to cool down your home quickly. -Ceiling fans are cheap, maximizing space and cooling down a room pretty well. If you have this type of fan, make sure that the switch is set to summer mode. -Freeze a few bottles or other containers with water, and place them in front of a fan. Cool air will be blown all over the room. -If your bed linen is made of satin or synthetics, it’s better to replace it with cotton or silk sheets. Cotton sheets absorb sweat well and cool down the skin. Another way to cool down your bed is to put your sheets and pillowcases in the fridge. -Wear pajamas made of cotton as they breathe better. Or sleep without clothes on. -Opt for compact fluorescents and LEDs over incandescent light bulbs. It’s better to stick with LED lighting because it has a longer lifespan. -Grab an ice pack or cold compress. If you don’t have these, wet a bandana, or wrap an ice cube in a cloth. Place it over the pulse points of your elbows, wrists, groin, neck, and ankles. -According to the American Heart Association, dehydration is a serious condition that can lead to problems ranging from swollen feet or headaches to life-threatening illnesses like heat stroke. -Many air conditioners have a function for temperature retention or night mode. In this mode, an air conditioner turns on and off, maintaining a steady temperature in the room. If All Plants Ate Meat, There'd Be More Oxygen ...
Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j Until a couple of years ago, most people knew next to nothing about carnivorous plants. If you had asked an expert, though, they would have excitedly submerged you in a sea of information. Meat-eating plants used to munch on tiny creatures - mostly insects, frogs, more rarely a mouse or rat. That is, until recently. Back when days were good, there were just about 700 kinds of carnivorous plants on the planet. They grew all over the world, except Antarctica. Good old plants got most of their food by basking in the sun. But it wasn't enough - they also needed nutrients, which they slurped up with their roots. But carnivorous plants lived in areas with nutrient-poor soil. That's why they started to catch prey. Such a high-protein diet helped them survive and grow faster. Little did we know at that time that soon, life would change beyond recognition. Because when a scientific experiment went way out of control, all plants on Earth became carnivorous! The event even got the name of the Great Carnivorous Disaster... 11 Signs Your Body Is 100% Unique
We’re going to tell you about exceptional physical skills and characteristics found in only a tiny percentage of people around the world (by the way, the rarest one is the first one). Each person has character traits, peculiar only to him or herself. Aspects of the psyche that are — if present in others at all — extremely rare. But did you know that our bodies can possess many unique features too?! TIMESTAMPS You have a flexible tongue 0:39 22% of people are capable of wiggling one ear 1:35 You can wiggle individual toes 2:06 Darwin’s tubercle 2:48 Diastema 3:23 You can raise one eyebrow 3:45 Dimples on the cheeks 4:16 Holes above the ears 4:54 Hitchhiker’s thumb 5:34 Missing tendon 6:05 You can touch your elbow with your tongue 6:40 SUMMARY Researchers even went as far as to conduct a special study on the subject. 63% of the test participants managed to fold their tongue into a roll, 14% managed to bend it in half, and less than 1% were able to shape their tongue into a triple pipe. Approximately 22% of people on the planet are capable of wiggling one ear, while no more than 18% can do it with both ears. But this was not always so: our distant ancestors used to be true virtuosos at making all sorts of movements with these body parts. No matter how you try, you won’t be able to wiggle each of your toes in turn. That’s because only the big toe and the little toe are fitted with individual muscles, while the rest are controlled en masse by just one set of muscles. The protruding segment on the inside or outside of the ear is called Darwin’s tubercle. The famous scientist once suggested that this feature was the consequence of the fact that early people’s ears used to be pointy. Diastema is a gap between the front teeth, occurring in about 20% of humans. From the viewpoint of dentists, it’s an anomaly that requires medical intervention. Scientists believe that early humans were able to wiggle their eyebrows separately — the way certain present-day species of monkeys do at the sight of danger. Possessed by approximately 25% of the world’s population, dimples are a defect in the structure of the zygomatic muscle, which is responsible for smiling. In people with this physiological feature, a small bundle of the muscle gets attached to the bone. Approximately 5% of people on the planet are born with a small hole above one or both ears. Interestingly, in the USA, such people constitute less than 1% of the population, while in Asia this distinction is diagnosed in approximately 10% of newborns. Hitchhiker’s thumb is a physiological phenomenon in which the upper phalanx of the thumb can bend 90 degrees in the direction opposite to the palm. This hyperextensibility is caused by the presence of a special gene, known as the "bendy thumb gene." And such a feature is inherited and occurs in about 25% of people. Gather all the fingers of one hand together, and tense your wrist. If the tendon on the inner side of the wrist doesn’t become visible, you must be one of the 14% of people who don’t have the long palmar muscle. It is believed that no more than 1% of people in the world have this ability. To perform the trick, you need to have a particularly short forearm and a long tongue. #humanbody Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: / brightside Instagram: / brightgram 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Why Steve Jobs Didn't Have a License Plate
What do you know about Steve Jobs, the legendary co-founder of Apple, who created one of the greatest gadgets of our time? Turns out, he was a man of mystery, and in the most literal sense of the word. Just think about it, he'd been driving a car around Silicon Valley without a license plate for years on end! That meant breaking the law, which requires all passenger vehicles to have tags. Some believed that he did it just because he could. Call it a rebellious spirit if you want. Or maybe he wanted to protect his privacy by any means possible. Someone even came up with the theory that it was the font on the plate that he didn’t like. After all, he was a perfectionist in every way, so maybe he really thought an ugly plate would ruin his beautiful car. What If You Had to Live a Day in the Stone Age
Imagine you just wake up one day and there's no electricity, no internet, no money, and no work or school. Nothing you're used to! You're not even in your own home, because you’ve magically transported to the Stone Age. What could possibly happen next? Of course, your first reaction would be shock, but we'll move past that. First, let's look around. This is your cave where you live with your family. You have your own sleeping area that’s covered with animal skin. However, you might also live in a primitive hut supported by mammoth tusks and ribs, with an animal skin over it as protection from the rain. And if you're wondering where the Stone Age people did their business, don't be surprised to find out it was basically anywhere outdoors. What If There Was No Electricity for a Year
A person can go without food for a couple weeks, water for a few days, air for mere minutes. But without electricity ... it's hard to say. It all depends on where you live, what survival skills you have, and how much you depend on the conveniences of living on the grid. But let's see what will happen to humanity if electricity disappeared for, say, a year! So, there’s a bit of charge left on the phone, but your mobile data isn’t working. Nobody suspects that communication towers have shut down, which means no calls, not even emergencies! For now, all you know is, the Internet is gone! You don’t have any offline games either. Hey, why not grab a latte to pass the time? The barista cuts you off as soon as you walk in the door. You overhear a group of people talking about a nasty crash on a busy intersection. Oh yeah, traffic lights don’t work now. First thing’s first, a nice hot shower to wash this crazy situation away. …No tap. The toilet doesn’t flush either. All you notice are dimly lit windows – everyone else is lighting candles too. The perishables in your fridge have long reached the point of no return. You throw out your milk, eggs, cheese, and so on. You better have cash on you – card readers aren’t going to work. Neither will ATMs. Anyone with money in the bank now has no access to it… Emergency generators are already running out all over the world – the most powerful models can only go for 24 hours max. The global economy is plummeting. Commerce, banking, trade, national and personal debt – they’re just gone overnight! Small communes have sprouted up everywhere. People extract water from wells, they stay fed thanks to agriculture and fishing. Light appears! Once they fix things up and electricity is back, it’ll take at least 10 years to fully restore the economy, infrastructure, and production. There’s a layer of it in the atmosphere that protects the Earth from harmful ultraviolet and cosmic radiation. Lightning benefits the planet in lots of other ways too. Electromagnetic fields make all atoms and molecules stick together to form tangible matter – that is, you, me, and everything around us. If the charge in the electrons disappears and they stop repelling, then gravity will begin to squeeze them together with such force that a black hole will arise and begin to absorb all matter! How People Survive in Earth’s Most Packed Urban...
Kowloon Walled City was once the most crowded place on Earth, packed with 33,000 people crammed into just 6.4 acres in Hong Kong. Imagine a giant maze of dark, narrow alleys, with apartments stacked so tightly that sunlight barely reached the ground. The buildings were built chaotically, with little planning, so the city became a lawless labyrinth. Despite this, people lived normal lives—there were schools, shops, and even dentists operating in tiny, makeshift spaces. It was demolished in 1994 to make way for a park, but its memory still fascinates people as a symbol of both resilience and chaos. Kowloon Walled City remains a legendary example of how humans adapt to even the most extreme living conditions.
