This week's edition of The Twins Hot Stove Show hits the road in a couple of different ways as we catch up with Trevor Hildenberger live from the Twins Caravan. Hildenberger recants stories from his caravan visits while contemplating additions to his pitching repertoire during this offseason. We then introduce you to the ‘Weapon,’ which is the new Twins assistant pitching coach, Jeremy Hefner. Jeremy discusses his expectations for a transition from a behind-the-scenes role to the impact he'll have in the bullpen. Additionally, Jeremy informs us of how his relationship with new pitching coach Wes Johnson has evolved as well as their personal hometown visits to several different pitchers on the team.

New Twins manager Rocco Baldelli returns to the Twins Hot Stove Show to get us caught up on his recent hometown visits of Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano. Baldelli provides his perspective on the addition of Nelson Cruz as an opponent of his as well as what has been the biggest surprise in his first two months on the job. We hand the ball to reliever Taylor Rogers in the second segment to discuss the new skipper, the evolution of his slider in 2018 and how happy the Twins' pitching staff is to see Nelson Cruz in its dugout. Rogers closes out the show by taking three cuts, which includes his take on “spin rate” in a sport other than baseball.

We are on Cruz control with our 1st show of 2019, as newest Twin Nelson Cruz joins this week’s show. While sitting on the beach in the Dominican Republic he chats about who, and what, had a hand in him signing with the team. “The Boomstick” then takes three cuts, including how he picked up that nickname. General Manager Thad Levine is familiar with Nelson from their time together in Texas, and he is very excited about adding this bat to the lineup and the impact Cruz can have on some of the younger players. Could the Twins be looking to add a closer next? Thad looks at that possibility and more on this week’s Hot Stove Show.

The decision by the Twins to not recall Byron Buxton for the final month of the season has raised many questions, and general manager Thad Levine joins the show to provide some insight and answers. The front office has not been successful in reaching Buxton directly to discuss their decision and they recognize the importance and welcome that conversation.
