His agent, Joel Wolfe, talked about the negative Japanese media affecting Sasaki mentally and how him signing with a smaller market team might be beneficial to him. Also, Kevin Acee reported the Padres are having conversations with other teams about Dylan Cease and they haven't yet had contract extension discussions with Luis Arraez.
