We humans are social creatures. According to scientists, people with fewer social ties are 2-3 times more likely to be in a worse emotional state than those who have more of those. The more friends and social contacts we have, the more successful we result to be. But how do we work on those social ties and influence other people's opinions? Is there a way to get another person to like you or to listen to you? Well, there're ways to do that. If you start analyzing other person's behavior and practice different psychological tricks with them, you might see the result very quickly! These Landmarks May Disappear In Your Lifetime
Some famous landmarks might not be around forever, so catch them while you can! The Statue of Liberty is facing threats from rising sea levels, and the Sphinx in Giza is slowly being eroded by pollution and wind. The Eiffel Tower, despite being made of iron, is susceptible to rust and wear over time. The Taj Mahal is battling pollution and a weakening foundation. These iconic sites are at risk, so visiting them sooner rather than later is a good idea! #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music from TheSoul Sound: https://thesoul-sound.com/ Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... The Earth’s Poles Will Flip – Here’s Why
Did you know that the Earth’s poles might flip one day, causing compasses to point south instead of north? Scientists have discovered that this pole reversal is a natural part of our planet’s magnetic cycle, which has happened many times over millions of years. When this magnetic shift occurs, it will significantly change how we navigate and might even affect our technology. Another fascinating fact is that days could become longer, eventually stretching to 25 hours instead of the current 24-hour cycle we are used to. So, in the future, we might actually have a bit more time to relax and enjoy each day! #brightside Credit: SAA 2020: Christopher C. Finlay, Clemens Kloss, Nils Olsen, Magnus D. People Used To Have Just One Eye Color
Your body is wonderland - do you know this phrase? Actually, it is true about everyone's body: it's such a unique and fascinating place, that scientists can't help but get amazed each time they discover something new. Yet, a lot about our bodies remains a mystery to us. For example, did you know that we, humans, have 3D vision! One might wonder, what we need those 3 D games for. Also, our tongue prints are as unique as fingerprints. And long ago all people had only one eye color - brown. Every eye color that appeared later was a result of genetic mutation. If You See One of These, Move Back Right Away
Do you often go to the woods? It's a beautiful place with healing properties for our souls and bodies. However, it's important to be aware of some dangerous plants and creatures living there. Do you often see something suspicious and decide to try it or come closer, despite your intuition saying "run away ASAP!"? Most of the time our intuition won't betray us. For example, one fungus looks like it's covered with drops of blood all over it's cap but in reality it's not toxic. While another one is called "Zombie Fungus" and not without reason: it may take over ants' bodies to control their actions and hijack their minds. Moreover, there're other plants that look pretty innocent, but may cause danger to people. For instance, if you get the sap of the sandbox tree in your eyes, blindness can become a frighteningly real possibility. Why Hollywood Won't Cast These 10 Superstars An...
Ever wondered why some big stars like Cameron Diaz, Jim Carrey, and Taylor Lautner seem to have disappeared from Hollywood? Well, it's often a mix of personal choices and industry changes. Cameron Diaz decided to step away to focus on her personal life and other interests. Jim Carrey has shifted his focus to painting and other creative outlets, plus he's been quite selective about his roles. As for Taylor Lautner, his career didn't quite take off after the "Twilight" saga, and he's been laying low, waiting for the right project to come along. What happened to the rest of them? The Only Creature That Can Survive On Mars
Did you know there's actually a tiny creature that could survive on Mars? It's called the tardigrade, also known as a water bear. These microscopic critters are incredibly tough and can withstand extreme conditions like intense radiation, freezing temperatures, and even the vacuum of space. Scientists think that if any creature could make it on Mars, it would be the tardigrade because of its resilience. It's pretty amazing to think that such a tiny organism might have what it takes to live on another planet! Credit: CC BY 4.0, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... Scientific Discoveries That Made 2019 a Fantast...
2020 has been a very strange year so far, don't you think so? One might even beg to rewind this year and go back to the previous one. So let's remember, what an amazing year 2019 was. And it truly was, as 2019 was full of mind-boggling discoveries and scientific breakthroughs. Some of the discoveries were so unexpected that it's hard to believe they actually happened. For example, scientists found out that if people started having 6 fingers, the brains would easily adapt to it. Also, in 2019 a group of scientists grew human taste cells in a lab, they actually discovered those had an ability to smell, just like our noses. Meanwhile, outside of our planet some unusual things happened as well. The supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy lit up twice as brightly as usual. What a bright year indeed! 35+ Ways to Improve Your Eyes Naturally at Home
How many hours a day do we spend staring at the screens of our laptops and smartphones? Yes, countless hours! That's why we eventually notice our vision change and get much worse. We replace glasses and contact lenses to get sharper vision, but this process seems to have no end. However, we can do something to improve our eyesight even now! First of all, we should start with changing our lifestyle. Pay attention to what we eat, when we exercise, how many hours a day we sleep, if we sometimes fall asleep in contact lenses - we should stop it immediately! Also, eye exercises are really helpful. Your eyes have muscles and they can get sore when held in one position for too long, just like any other muscle in our body. Give your muscles a break and you'll be grateful over the years. 46 Scary Facts About Deep Sea Creatures With Bi...
Very few of us decide to dive into the depth of the ocean and explore, what's going on there. What we can tell for sure is that it's a place full pretty scary inhabitants we know very few about. The ocean is deep: the average depth of the entire ocean is about 3.5 km. and its deepest point is the Mariana Trench, which hides a lot of murky secrets. One of the questions is: is the Meg the most terrifying creature ever living in the ocean or it has competition? The size isn't always the decisive factor when it comes to danger, even though the Meg was pretty impressive in size. It could reach up to 82 ft. in length. However, some tiny inhabitants of the ocean can be terrifying as well. Take the blue-ringed octopus, for instance. It might be small, but this thing is no joke. It has a dangerous venom and an antidote to its sting still hasn't been found.
