Another Padres star admits to quitting. This ti...
Josh Hader had the opportunity to go four outs in Monday's loss to the Giants but decided not to do so. After the game, he was the latest Padre to essentially admit to quitting and not giving full effort. What a bad look. Dennis Lin is hearing widespread speculation that Bob Melvin will either voluntarily leave the organization or be fired after the season. Is him choosing to leave actually a possibility? Plus, Manny Machado seemed to be blaming the media in his final comments at Petco Park this season. And Kevin Acee is reporting the Padres are planning on cutting their payroll all the way down to around $200 million. How could they do that?

Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on Kevin Acee's detailed piece that he published Friday morning on the San Diego Padres clubhouse/culture issues. Manny Machado, who is known as the team's unofficial captain, was the main player focused on in this piece and it doesn't seem like he holds himself or his teammates accountable enough. Padres shut down Darvish, win Dodgers series | 467
Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on Yu Darvish being shut down, Joe Musgrove wanting to pitch one more time in 2023 and the San Diego Padres series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manny Machado and Juan Soto had big nights in the series opener, as both homered and Machado passed Tony Gwynn on the Padres all-time HR list. The former All-Star third baseman did admit he is considering having surgery to repair his right elbow. Why not shut it down then and do it now? Near the end of the show, Ben gives you the latest around San Diego sports!

Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on the San Diego Padres weekend series in Houston against the Astros. The San Diego Padres were three games under .500 at the trade deadline and entering Friday's series against the Houston Astros, they are nine games under. So clearly in hindsight adding pieces at the deadline wasn't the right thing to do but what if they got a redo at the deadline? Would have A.J. Preller sold instead of trying to make a losing team a little bit better? Plus, there's a report out saying San Diego had interest in Tommy Pham.

Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on the San Diego Padres weekend series against the San Francisco Giants. Juan Soto helped spark the offense on Friday and Saturday, as he homered in both games. Plus, there was a report about why Austin Nola has been struggling this season. Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on the San Diego Padres final two games in St. Louis against the Cardinals. They had multiple leads on Tuesday night but ended up losing for the 11th time in extra innings. Why are they so bad in extras this year? Then Josh Hader was in line for the save in the series finale but another kick in the nuts came San Diego's way. Plus, Yu Darvish isn't with the team, as he traveled to meet with the doctor that did his 2015 Tommy John surgery. Concerning? And it appears there has been a fake charity bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars working concession stands at Padres games.
