What a 5200-year-old Tattoed Mummy Tells Us
Throughout history, humans have used tattoos to protect themselves against sorcery, claim membership in groups, declare their love, honor their loved ones, or simply express themselves. Tattoos date back thousands of years. Ötzi the Iceman is the 5200-year-old mummy who was found embedded in glacial ice in 1991 in the Ötztal Alps. He had sixty-one markings across his body that are considered to be tattooed by the experts. Other mummies with tattoos have been recovered from at least 49 archaeological sites, including locations in Greenland, Alaska, and the Philippines, which only suggests that tattoos were a worldwide thing. #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... Coolest Medieval Cities Frozen In Time
Are you ready for a trip around the world's most beautiful medieval towns? Carcasonne is one of the few medieval towns that still preserves its fortifying walls around it. San Gimignano has been around since the 8th Century, and you can easily get there since it's located just an hour's drive outside of Florence, Italy. Bruge's medieval streets are dreamy to explore, and its delightful cobbled streets give way to cafe-lined squares and meandering canals. You’ll find buildings that reflect the constructions of the Romans and even the Vikings in York, England.

8 Most Expensive Engineering Mistakes
When you're building a house, a bridge, or some other impressive construction, some serious planning must be done, and every detail matters. The construction of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington was finished 1940, a twin suspension bridge was unique and one-of-the-kind construction never seen before. In today’s equivalent, it cost about 1 billion bucks. Still, despite the amount of money spent, the bridge lasted slightly over 4 months. The engineers apparently missed one highly important issue - the wind. This Scientist Made Labs Set on Fire, But How?
Whenever this Nobel Prize winner entered a lab, equipment would break, electrical systems would malfunction and go out of control, and beakers would crack. Sometimes even fires would break out. The name of the scientist was Dr. Wolfgand Pauli, and even his colleagues believed all those incidents weren’t just a matter of bad luck. They called this phenomenon “the Pauli Effect.” This effect seemed to be unique, but there are other unusual phenomena that could affect your life. Guide how to survive in the bermuda triaangle
Shop our unique MERCH store for your Bright style (open globally!): http://bit.ly/2OJubyA Why do ships and planes vanish without a trace in the Bermuda Triangle? If you draw up a map, trace a line connecting the island of Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Miami, and back to Bermuda, what do you get? Yes, it’s a triangle – a sinister polygon known for mysteriously swallowing over 2,000 ships and 200 aircraft over centuries! And here's a story about the Bermuda Triangle you probably didn’t hear about. So, the airplane involved was a Beechcraft Bonanza single-engine aircraft. Onboard, pilot Bruce Gernon had two passengers: his father and business partner. They took off from Andros Island in the Bahamas and headed northwest for the Florida coast. It was December 4, 1970. This was a typical flight Bruce had made dozens of times before! But this time would be different. They would face really unexplainable and maybe even mysterious things… See the video transcription here: https://brightside.me/wonder-curiosit... #brightside Preview photo credit: Lancaster, USA - March 24, 2018, Beechcraft F33C Bonanza on display during Los Angeles County Air Show at William J. 4 Mind-Boggling Unsolved Mysteries
Mount Everest is the highest point on the planet, and not so many people have managed to climb it. The first duo to have gone down in the history books for reaching Everest's summit were Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay back in 1953. However, there is a tale of another team that could have reached it first almost 30 years earlier. If it's true, then the names of the first two climbers would have been George Mallory and Andrew Irvine.

Dark True Story Of The Peaky Blinders Gang
The Peaky Blinders were known to wear fitted jackets, lapeled overcoats, and peaked newsboy caps. You might have heard of them because of the famous TV show, but it’s not all fiction. The Peaky Blinders – and other gangs like it - came to be because of the poor living conditions and economic challenges of industrial England in the late 19th century. By the end of the 1800s, this gang included people of a variety of ages, from as young as twelve, up to the age of thirty. They were active in Birmingham until about 1910 when they were taken over by a larger gang, called The Birmingham Boys. Do you believe it's possible for a human being to survive at the bottom of an ocean for 3 days? It sounds unreal, but it actually happened to a ship cook Harrison Okene. It all happened in 2013 on a tugboat that was moving through the Atlantic waters along the coast of Nigeria. The tug was pulling a vessel with oil tanks. Then, all of a sudden, a huge wave formed, crashed into the ship, and broke the cable. The tugboat sank, but one crew member survived! f you're looking for a natural and affordable solution to keep your toilet odor-free, garlic can help! Freshly crushed garlic cloves contain a variety of antimicrobial properties. Allicin in it reduces the build-up of bacteria and fungi. Hair, grease, and grime build up over time and eventually clog the drains, removing the blockage is easy with salt and vinegar. Scorched pans tend to use a lot of elbow grease, but they can be cleaned a lot easier with the right ingredients.

Simple Tips To Double Your Reading Speed
Do you have plenty of books piled up at home but no time to read them all? Well, you can triple your reading speed if you follow some simple tips. The first thing you need to change in your reading style to read faster is to stop subvocalizing. Let's take this sentence as an example: "Emily watches videos on Bright Side every day." Instead of subvocalizing every single word, try: Emily Bright Side every day. Your eyes will still be able to capture all the words but practice subvocalizing fewer of them per sentence. The Truth About the Titanic Has Been Revealed
Recent findings reveal the truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. Scientists have debunked the theory that the cause of the Titanic sinking was an iceberg. Why did Titanic sink? What's the real cause of the Titanic crash? HOW TITANIC SANK On April 14th, 1912 at 11:40 p.m. RMS Titanic had a terrible accident that led to its ultimate demise 3 hours later. By 2:20 a.m. in the early morning of April 15th, the biggest ship of its time had completely disappeared under the ice-cold surface of the Atlantic Ocean. The Titanic took more than 1,500 lives with it as it sank to its watery grave. TITANIC MYSTERY The cause of this horrible disaster leading to so many deaths was an iceberg the ship crashed into. Or so we’ve always been told... But scientists’ most recent findings have debunked this theory. In this video, we’ll tell you the whole truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. TIMESTAMPS How Titanic sank 0:08 How Titanic was made 1:00 The real cause of the catastrophe 3:04 The interior of the Titanic 5:10 Another tragic coincidence 6:20 Another criminal negligence: the lifeboats 7:23 Some people also blame Captain Smith 8:25 HOW TITANIC WAS MADE The Titanic had 4 massive smokestacks. Each of them weighed 60 tons, and they extended 81.5 feet above the deck. Such an impressive height was necessary to avoid covering the passengers in 100 tons of soot blown off daily. The smokestacks were placed at a 30° angle to look even more astonishing and imposing. No less awe-inspiring was the cost of the ship. Its construction demanded $7,500,000. If we take into account modern exchange rates and inflation, in 2016 they would be paying $166,000,000. Surprisingly, it would turn out cheaper than the production of the world-famous movie Titanic in 1997, which cost $200,000,000! Criminal negligence, tragic and unfortunate chain of coincidences, fire or ice: whatever it was, it took the lives of hundreds of people and still keeps the minds of scientists busy to this day. If you like to order meat when you eat out, there are some things you need to know to stay safe and always choose the best option. When the piece is ground to reach the desired consistency, harmful elements from the surface of the meat can get inside, and it can potentially render the dish unsafe to eat. Rare stakes, however, are a bit safer to eat. Next time you order something to drink at a restaurant, better stay away from garnishes. The same goes for tap water. Why Nobody Lives in Historic Venice
Historic Venice, with its canals and centuries-old buildings, has a unique charm, but fewer people call it home today for various reasons. The city faces challenges like rising sea levels and frequent flooding, making it a tough environment for residents. Additionally, the increasing number of tourists has driven up the cost of living, pushing many locals to the outskirts. The maintenance of historic structures is costly, and strict preservation regulations make renovations challenging. The population has dwindled, creating a delicate balance between preserving Venice's rich history and adapting to the modern challenges. 💡 Bright Side now has MERCH! (And it's open globally!) Check it out at: http://bit.ly/2OJubyA If you look up the word “frustration” in the dictionary, you’ll probably see a picture of a Rubik’s Cube. It takes some bright minds only 5 seconds to solve, yet others spend years trying to put it together, eventually giving up. But the truth is that anyone can solve the Rubik’s Cube with one single algorithm! And it’s really simple! So, today's algorithm includes 7 stages. You can pause the video and practice until you can do all these moves pretty much automatically. It’ll help you later on! Solve the yellow corners on the top layer 9:54 #rubikscube #riddles #brainteasers Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - #1. The task here is to put together a white cross, and align its edges with the right colored center on each side. - #2. At this stage, you’ll have to put the lower corners of the cube in the right places, and the white side of the cube will be solved. Here’s where you’ll use that R U R’ U’ algorithm for your right hand. - #3. At this stage, you’ll need to solve the rest of the middle layer so that the outer blocks are the same color as the center. In the first case, the layer you’ll be working with is to the LEFT on the top of the target position. You must match it with the right color. - #4. First, you put together a yellow cross on the yellow side of the cube. If you don’t see the yellow line but only a random set of yellow edges, start doing the algorithm. As soon as you see the yellow line, start doing the same algorithm! - #5. Now we need to arrange the edges of the yellow cross so that the second color coincides with the color of that side. - #6. At this stage, the task is to put the corners in place with the appropriate colors of neighboring centers. You only need to move them into place – you’re not solving them just yet. - #7. You’re almost done! All you have to do is solve the corners! Use the algorithm you already know in a slightly modified order until the corner is solved. What Was Inside Lost Bermuda Triangle Ship?
💡 Our unique shop on Amazon (US only): http://amzn.to/3tkGbpY September 2, 2019. the British Royal Navy's Ice Patrol ship called the HMS Protector sails through the calm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The time is 11 PM. Some of the ship's crew are on deck, while others are sleeping in their cabins. The captain steers the ship and looks straight at the horizon. Suddenly, against this beautiful landscape, one of the sailors notices the black silhouette of an unknown ship. The captain slows down and steers the ship a little closer to the mysterious vessel. This is an old cargo ship 250 feet long. Attempts to contact the crew members lead to nothing. It seems the unknown boat is floating in the ocean by itself. There’s no one on board. At least no one alive. British sailors don't dare to climb on that strange deck. They take a photo, post it on the Internet, and sail away. Many people on the Internet will assume the sailors met a real ghost ship. 5 months later, the same ship was seen in County Cork, Ireland - thousands of miles from this place... TIMESTAMPS: What an egg contains 1:02 Eggs keep you full and help with weight loss 3:44 Eggs improve eye health 4:16 Eggs keep your bones healthy 4:54 Eggs prevent iron deficiency 5:17 Eggs help with brain development in infants and fetuses 5:42 How to choose the right egg 6:35 What will happen if you eat 3 eggs a day 8:11 #eggs #eggdiet #weightloss Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/... SUMMARY: - Eggs have been getting a bad rap in the health and fitness community because they are associated with cholesterol and weight gain. Others say they may trigger a heart attack, and people who want to lose weight usually remove eggs from their diet. But what if you tried to eat 3 eggs a day? You might be missing more benefits than you realized. - Egg contain calories, protein, healthy fats, folate, calcium, zinc, phosphorus, selenium, and vitamins A, B5, B12, B2, D, E, K, and B6. They also contain omega-3 fatty acids and dietary cholesterol. - A large egg contains about 6 g of high-quality protein, which may help you eat less for several hours after a meal. As a result, this helps you lose weight. - Egg yolks contain lutein, which helps reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. It contains zeaxanthin, which protects you from the sun’s harmful UV rays. - Egg yolks improve bone metabolism and prevent the risk of osteoporosis. They are also a source of iron. - The yolks can also help to prevent birth defects during pregnancy. Vitamin B is important for the development of the spinal cord and fetal nervous system. It also helps prevent breast cancer, according to a study. - There are 4 types of eggs, and they are organized based on where the hen is raised and fed. Brown and white eggs have the same nutritional value according to the USDA (who debunked all previous myths on this matter). - A study from the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut revealed that a person who consumes 3 eggs a day may experience more of an increase in good cholesterol and decrease in bad cholesterol than someone who eats the same amount of egg substitute.
