The Core 4: The NBA has a Ref Problem
The Core Four is here to talk trades, refereeing, and rank their NBA title contenders. But, Matt opens the show to discuss Ja Morant being snubbed as an All-Star starter while Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. won't be making the roster at all. For this week's Kleiman Corner, the guys discuss the upcoming trade deadline. The elephant in the room is everybody on Grizzlies' Twitter fawning over OG Anunoby but, is he worth the three first-round picks Toronto is asking for? Matt and Xavier give alternative targets with much lower asking prices. Then, Dave gives the young guys a history lesson going through Memphis' past deadline moves. He shares his top five Grizzlies trades of all time. Xavier takes some shots at former Grizzlies that should have been traded much sooner. The guys Embrace Debate over the refereeing across the league. The Grizzlies have a roster full of guys that are hard to officiate but the entire league has been facing a ref problem including some big-name stars. To close the show, the C4 Boys do their Top 4 NBA Title Contenders Ranked by the College Football Playoff Committee. Matt brings the Top 10 teams based on how the guys have ranked all season and Philly has entered the chat.

The Core 4: Shannon Sharpe is Corny
The Core 4 makes their weekly appearance coming off of the Memphis Grizzlies' three-game losing streak. Dave opens the show by asking if this furthers the concern of the Grizzlies winning big games on the road. Matt gives his two takeaways for why Memphis struggled over the road stretch. For Xavier's X & O's, he breaks down why he believes the Grizzlies continue to struggle away from FedEx Forum. The defense has not been as tight and the shooting struggles have put them behind early. Dave worries about the bench unit and if a change needs to be made in the starting lineup. In Embrace Debate, the C4 Boys cover the Shannon Sharpe incident from Friday night. Sharpe started what turned into a shouting match that involved not only Ja Morant but his father as well. The Grizzlies were unable to use this as motivation to close out the Lakers and Dave wonders if it had lasting effects in the next two games. The guys put on the GM hats in Kleiman Corner to break down the rookie class. Matt lists the rookies that are contributing now and will contribute later that Memphis missed out on. Dave wonders if David Roddy has too much responsibility too soon. Xavier discusses viable trade targets. To close the show the guys give out some awards at the Trophy Case. Dave awards the entire Grizzlies team. Matt gives out the first ever "Luka Doncic Award for Playing Yourself into Shape" and Xavier breaks down Ziaire Williams' full-court heave.

The Core 4: Ranking Ja's Best Dunks
On this week's Core 4, Xavier and Dave saw the Grizzlies in person in Indiana and at home and give their takeaways from the environment and the pair of wins. Dave saw Ja Morant's dunk on Jalen Smith in person and it inspired the guys to Embrace Debate by ranking their top four dunks of Morant's career. Xavier had the poster on Smith as his favorite, Dave has it lower on his list and Matt doesn't believe it cracks the top four. Where does the famous Ja-Breaker from the show's intro rank? In the Barkleys segment, the guys own up to their worst takes on the Grizzlies this season. Matt admits the Grizzlies are a little bit better than a play-in team as he predicted in the offseason. Xavier has grown to trust Santi and Dave is disappointed in the lack of good teams across the league. This League has plenty of rugged road environments, making the one seed in the West even more critical for Memphis. Xavier points out that the road record is actually on par with the rest of the league. The current 10-game winning streak has not given Dave any more confidence for the playoffs. Matt believes Memphis should aim even higher to have the best record in the entire league. To close the show the guys visit the trophy case to give out their awards for the last 10 games. Tyus Jones has provided steadiness as a starter and with the second unit. Dave makes Bane's All-Star case and Matt makes the case for Jaren.

Matthew Gill checks in for Chase today to bring you your gambling preview for tonight's matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Indiana Pacers. Gill starts the show with some stats for why he's staying away from the full game side and total with the Grizzlies favored by eight on the road and the high total of 239. Instead, he takes the Grizzlies in the first quarter and first half as insurance against a blowout. Gill's got a theory on why Desmond Bane's props are the play tonight and closes the show with his Same Game Parlay.

The Core 4: Mid-Season Surprises and Disappoint...
On this week's Core 4, the guys open the show discussing the Memphis Grizzlies' current seven-game winning streak including a pair of wins in their latest back-to-back. In the first segment, Xavier, Matt, and Dave give their biggest surprises and disappointment from around the NBA to mark the halfway point in the season. Matt has enjoyed the scoring boom across the league while Dave is disappointed at the level of competition from the league's middle tier. Xavier is asking for the trade market to finally ramp up. The fellas then Embrace Debate about Jaren Jackson Jr.'s Defensive Player of the Year Candidacy. Jackson has transformed the Grizzlies' defense since returning from injury while averaging 3.3 blocks per game. Dave looks at the betting odds that have Jackson favored but Matt believes Jackson's rebounding is holding him back from the DPOY Crown for the time being. In this week's NBA Title Contenders Ranked by the College Football Playoff Committee, Xavier and Matt have finally convinced Dave that Denver deserves the top spot. Matt and Dave have similar lists and it comes down to Xavier to break the tie. Where does Memphis land in the contender race? To wrap up the show, the guys visit Kleiman Corner to discuss Dave's favorite trade target: Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson was ejected from Sunday's Utah versus Memphis game but Dave believes that doesn't count out Clarkson as a potential addition for the Beale Street Bears. Matt gives his list of targets and Xavier wants to stand firm by the current roster.
