Michael Gentile was a predator caught in the Fairfield, Connecticut sting. He is among one of the oldest predators caught in the series. He is known for his unsettling voice from calling the decoy, as well as his inappropriate nude pictures which he sends. Gentile was a 64 year old limo driver at the time that he contacted a girl over a mobile app that he believed to be thirteen, and proceeded to act extremely creepy. He mentions to the decoy that he likes to be in the nude. He sent the decoys multiple pictures, including him naked in a forest, him naked in his living room and even him on the toilet. He would also encourage the decoy to experiment in a nude lifestyle herself by asking her to try to sleep naked and to attend a nudist gathering with him. Michael even sent multiple calls and voicemails using a breathy and creepy voice calling the decoy his "sex kitten" as well as mentioning the things he wanted to do with her, such as having oral sex with her in a "69" position. He also asked the girl to practice having sex with a banana to get ready for him as well as send links to pornographic videos to educate the decoy. The chat continues for about a month. Gentile makes the 35 mile drive to Fairfield. When he arrived at the sting house, he closes a window the decoy said she was having trouble with and immediately felt that something was off (for unknown reasons). He then decided to leave the house with Chris yelling behind him in an attempt to coerce him back into the house. Never even getting a glimpse of Hansen, Gentile closes the door and power walks away from the house only to be ambushed by several cops a few feet away from the door. John Kennelly was a potential predator confronted in the Washington D.C. edition of To Catch a Predator. Like Michael Seibert, Kennelly was caught by the show twice. However, unlike Seibert, Kennelly was confronted twice in a 24 hour period. Kennelly, using the screen name “SpecialGuy29”, engages in sex talk with a boy he believed to be fourteen years old and made overtures to become his boyfriend saying he "is so f**king hot". John lies about his age and occupation, saying he was a 29 year old 11th grade prep school teacher. In actuality, at the time of the confrontation, he was 43 and unemployed. In order to show intent, the decoy solicited Kennelly to strip down to his underwear and walk in. When Kennelly replied he didn’t wear them, the decoy replied, “then come in nekid”. John is a "fast mover", taking approximately one hour from contact to declaring a boyfriend relationship to making the decision to drive to the sting house and present himself naked. John showed up to the sting house with a twelve pack of beer and proceed to do just that. He then awkwardly sat on a stool and waited for his potential boyfriend to come downstairs. When Chris Hansen finally walked in, he was speechless. After giving him a towel to cover himself up, Chris ripped into the potential predator about his chat and the lengths he went through to have sex with an underage boy. After revealing he was caught in a Dateline investigation, John went back to the laundry room, redressed, and drove off. This also revealed that he did, in fact, wear underwear. Second Encounter Not 24 hours after this bizarre encounter before Kennelly was at it again online. Going under the name “Shane”, he solicited another 13 year old boy to meet him at McDonalds that he would pick up and have sex with. When he arrived at the McDonalds, Chris immediately confronted him even more aggressively than the day before. He chronicled his folly the day before and his activities leading to the day’s confrontation as well as suggesting he had met many boys on the internet before running into Dateline. Kennelly tried to say a death in his family was the reason for his behavior, which Chris was having none of. He also said he was seeing a psychiatrist and had two appointments the next day, which was impossible for obvious reasons. After walking away with his shoes untied, getting into his truck and leaving, Kennelly would be investigated and subsequently arrested. However, he only received a suspended two year sentence with a three year probationary period. After the encounter with Kennelly, TCaP finally brought in law enforcement for the next sting. Todd Monroe Spikes was a potential predator and the law enforcement officer exposed in the Flagler Beach, Florida edition of To Catch a Predator. He is best known for bringing an array of guns to the sting house. Todd was a former police officer who had gone back into law enforcement and was 41 years old at the time that he began an explicit chat with a girl he believed to be 13 years old named “Lindsay”. Typing in all caps, he talked about how he wanted to perform cunnilingus and anallingus on the decoy (hence the name). Because he wanted it to be a regular thing, he talked about moving down and becoming the girl’s mother’s boyfriend as well as cuckolding her by parading her to perfect strangers and watching them have sex. He promised to show up at the sting house at a particular time but fell incommunicado. Because of this, the Dateline crew and law enforcement thought he had backed out, so operations were shut down for the night. However, Todd would call the decoy at 1am saying he was on his way. Because of this, he was pulled over and arrested before he could arrive at the sting house. Shockingly, upon searching his van, they found a large array of guns, plus one revolver in his pocket that was loaded and cocked along with an assault rifle on the passenger seat, loaded and primed. Even more shocking, and this was not covered in the Dateline story, he had all the materials for a body dump: a chainsaw, tarp, ropes, and a boat anchor. Spikes remained silent during questioning and bailed out. He fought the charges for three years, but finally accepted a plea which kept him out of jail. He was given 10 years probation and lifetime RSO status. A very light sentence considering the large amount of circumstantial evidence against him which showed a life or lives (if he got in the sting house) would be in danger had he got to the meet. In 2012, he was arrested for a parole violation. While at the jail, he entered into an altercation, which when combined with his parole violation ended up giving him a three year incarceration stint. He was released in August of 2015. Kevin Westerbeck was one of the predators caught in the Greenville, Ohio sting. He is one of the most hated predators on the show and is frequently made fun of due to his height. Westerbeck was a 47 year old Budget Analyst for the US Military working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base at the time of his involvement on the show. He started chatting with “Destiny”, a girl he believed to be thirteen. He admits to the decoy that he had been arrested and sentenced for soliciting already and was due to start serving his time at the end of the week. Westerbeck asks to come over and after making sure the meeting is about sex, he gives the dimensions of his penis. On the day of the meet, Westerbeck arrives and is greeted by the decoy by voice. The decoy told him to wait at the barstool while she changed, though Westerbeck insisted that he watch her as he tried to follow her voice. Chris Hansen arrived in order to stop him from meandering deeper into the house and told Westerbeck to take a seat. Westerbeck waddled to the stool and climbed up onto it. Chris then grilled him about the chat as well as reference Westerbeck‘s previous arrest for soliciting minors. Casey Mauro was the female decoy used in the final two stings in Ocean County, NJ and Bowling Green, KY  Casey, a baby-faced 19-year-old, 5’2” and 95 pounds at the time of her participation on the show, had the perfect look and build for a decoy. Dustin McPhetridge was 26 when he arrived at the sting house with the hope of meeting a thirteen year old girl named "Laura" that he thought he was chatting with online. Thomas John Bodnar is a child sex predator involved in the Riverside, California edition of To Catch a Predator. He is arguably referred to as the worst and most hated predator caught in the history of the show. Bodnar, 42 at the time of his chat with whom he believed was a thirteen-year-old boy, was already a serial child molester at the time of his arrest. He was part of a big brother program in Salem, Oregon and was befriended by a single mother who wanted to give her three children a positive male influence in their lives. He would betray that trust by systematically molesting and raping all three: two boys and one girl. The children would later come out about it and Bodnar would be sentenced to ten years in prison. In 1999, he was arrested again for having oral sex with an underage boy. In this instance in Riverside, California, he expressed love for the boy, sending nude pictures. Vincent M. Ambrosio was a predator caught in the Fairfield, CT sting. Mohamad was a 34 year old real estate agent at the time he began chatting with a female Perverted Justice decoy he believed to be thirteen. He asks the decoy various personal questions, such as if she was a virgin, if she had sex with her old boyfriend, and if she masturbated. Mohamad would show a desire to get and receive oral sex from the decoy, telling her at least twice to open her legs up wide. He also transmitted various naked pictures with the heads cropped off. Abdalla would show up to the house late at night after making a date to do the things that were talked about in the chat. Upon driving up, the decoy waved him into the house and he happily came in with a huge smile on his face. His happiness was short-lived as Chris Hansen soon came out after he was situated. Clifford Wallach was 40 years old when he began chatting with a boy he believed to be fourteen years old named "Tony". Clifford is very guarded during his chat about his intentions, only saying he was looking to "have fun", wanting to communicate by voice instead. After 30 minutes, they end the chat and Clifford begins a voice conversation with Del Harvey, who is pretending to be Tony. Over the phone, he discloses his true intentions, saying he wanted to engage in oral sex with Tony, both giving and receiving. While setting up the meet, Wallach mentions he would be alone until midnight, but when he comes to the sting house, instead of heading towards the house, he instead went to the back seat of his car, to take his son out. Frag yells out, "Oh no..." in shock as others can be heard in the background in also in shock of what they are seeing. Chris Hansen later says some of those people were crying as well. Due to how shocking the situation is and because a real child is involved, Hansen immediately comes out and meets him just inside the front door, telling Clifford straight up that he is part of a sting. Hansen also iterates that because his child is involved that he won't pursue anything he asks them to leave. Clifford would state he was just going to take the decoy for lunch and he will never do it again. When he exits the house, instead of being tackled like many of the men in the Ft. Walter, 43 years old at the time, chatted up a girl he believed to be twelve by the name of "Beth". He expressed his desire to meet the girl, get her naked, and have sex. He also showed interest in eating his own sperm, telling her it tasted like pancake batter and that he would ejaculate on her body and lick the sperm off to make sure she didn't get pregnant. He was also hung up on having her wear a plaid skirt for their meeting. Cody Green was 20 at the time of the sting in the July, started chatting with “Maddie” a girl he believed to be a thirteen-year-old. He started chatting with the decoy about being a hood born hustler from the mean streets, when in reality he lived in Alpharetta, an affluent suburb of Atlanta. When finding out the girl was a virgin, he got excited about it and wanted to take her virginity. He also chatted about having his "thang" in the decoy's mouth and sent eight different pics of his “thang” for good measure. Jeffrey B. Sokol was a suspected predator caught in the Fairfield, CT sting. He is notable for really liking pizza and his arrogant attitude like he was the victim in the bust. 44-year-old Sokol groomed what he thought was a thirteen year old girl named Bailey online. He had some conversations with her, including talks of drawing up a “marriage contract“ in order for everything to be legal. On October 3rd, 2015, he drove for two and a half hours from his home in Boston to Fairfield, where he had planned to stay with the girl while her mother was away on business. He picked up a pizza, and once at the house, he tried to hug the decoy, only to meet Chris Hansen.  At first Sokol believed Hansen was the girl's father. During the interview he is arrogant, cold, dismissive and egotistical. Jeffrey Stacy is a 27 year old who was working at a deli at the time he chatted with the decoy named “Sadie”, a girl he believed to fifteen. Jeff initially lies about his age, saying he's 21. Even though the age has been stated, he immediately propositions her. He also sent naked pictures with the heads cut off representing them to be himself. Stacy was a "fast mover", only engaging in two short chat sessions with the decoy over a 24 hour period before making the hour and a half drive from Lebanon to Greenville. DarkHero was 30 at the time he solicited a girl he believed to be thirteen years old for a date as well as enter into a master/slave BDSM relationship with the decoy. Upon showing up at the house, he is confronted by Chris. DarkHero immediately goes on the offensive, unapologetically stating he was looking for a girlfriend and lambasted Chris for looking for pedophiles while he was doing so, seemingly unable to make the connection that the type of girls he was looking for was a criminal act. Marvin, 22 at the time of the investigation, chatted with a decoy named “Cindy”, who he believed to be fourteen. He wanted to do it raw, believing he knew how to avoid pregnancy because he was a med school student. Marvin then told the decoy he wanted to "blank" her everywhere in her house so she'd remember him. The conversation then turned to pets. Having been told by the decoy that she had a male cat, Marvin told her it would turn him on if she had sex with him (the cat). The decoy said she didn't think she wanted to "blank" the cat, so eventually Marvin agreed to walk into the house naked in order to have that happen. Rutherford was a 6th grade teacher at St Margaret of York Catholic school in Loveland, Ohio. He was 26 years old at the time of the sting operation. Rutherford met and chatted up a decoy online pretending to be a 13-year-old girl named "Danika". He shows up at the house in search for the girl, calling on her and telling her to come to him. Chris then appears and asks Rutherford to sit down for some questions, to which he responded that he had expected it to be a set-up. During his interview with Chris, Rutherford states that he was going through a divorce and simply wanted to 'get out of the house'. When asked what he was there to do with the girl he had been talking to, he says that there was no plans for anything sexual to take place, a very common excuse. He appears confident from the beginning that he was on national television, and states later into the interview that he is "probably on TV", to which Chris Hansen confirms, making Rutherford put his head into his hands as the camera crew walk out. DarkHero was 30 at the time he solicited a girl he believed to be thirteen years old for a date as well as enter into a master/slave BDSM relationship with the decoy. Upon showing up at the house, he is confronted by Chris.
