He is known for his calm demeanor throughout his confrontation and subsequent interrogation that had some in the TCaP fandom equate to that of a serial killer.  Nathan was a student at an evangelical college in Indiana at the time of his involvement on Dateline. He was 23 at the time he began chatting with a girl he believed to be thirteen named "Katie". He exhibited textbook grooming tactics by making the decoy feel a false sense of security, claiming that he'll make the meetup, "nice" for her. He asked the decoy several sexually graphic questions, including if she liked older men. Cannon was a 32-year-old working as a media director at a church, a volunteer position working with young teens. He began conversing with a decoy named "Natalie," whom he assumed to be fifteen-years-old. He claimed to be 27 years old, which was a lie. After talking to the girl for a few days, Cannon inquired about her dating history and whether she was a virgin. Like many potential predators in chat, he begins with a chivalrous tone trying to warn the decoy of the dangers of chat and the dangerous people online, but later expresses a desire to meet. Justin Taylor Smith was a 27 year old freelance post-production editor at Nickelodeon at the time he started chatting with "Carly", a girl he believed to be thirteen. He starts of by saying he is not a perv (something he would quickly disprove) and saying he would be interested in her if either he were younger or she were older. He expressed second thoughts about being attracted to the decoy, but proceeded to show off his webcam feed of him jerking off anyway to her and sent a plethora (50+ Links) of pornographic videos. He also floats the idea of being "friends with benefits" and having oral sex with each other on a regular basis. Gerald later inquired about the decoy's history with hypnosis.
