Janice Burt - Inspirational, Heart Centered, Pr...

Janice Burt, aka Spanish Janice, is a court-certified Spanish interpreter, voiceover artist, yoga instructor, author, and inspirational speaker. Having lived in Mexico City as a child, she acquired not only Spanish language skills, but a love and appreciation for a different people group and culture. When she returned back to California, she attended high school and college, graduating with Spanish as her major and Communication Studies as her minor.

She lived as a people pleaser, always trying to find her worth through other people’s approval and validation. She also lived filled with fear. She wasn’t even aware that either of those was true about her until after her divorce in 2012. During her marriage, she appeased and enabled her husband to feel good enough. She lost any type of sense of self that she’d had and wore a mask to fit in and belong. She unintentionally lied and manipulated to be liked and approved of by people.

Her life changed dramatically after her divorce. She hit rock bottom and was engulfed by sadness, anger, loss, and grief. She suddenly realized that she was going to have to take charge of her own life instead of blaming everyone else. She became aware of her subconscious beliefs of lack and limited possibilities. She vowed that she was going to put in the work to change these patterns…

https://www.janiceburt.com/
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support

He is also Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Black Market Entertainment, LLC (BME). His creative background has a solid foundation in both filmmaking and music.

Ted was born in Germany to a military Special Ops family, which meant constantly moving to different countries. This nomadic lifestyle led to an appreciation for a wide range of cultures and history, and an obsession with the creative spirit of the stories told through film, music, and graphic novels.

My father was part of an elite special ops unit called MACV-SOG. One of their primary objectives was to rescue our troops from prison camps in Vietnam. Just prior to his passing, one of my dad's last requests was for me to look into the mysterious death of one of his closest friends – Israeli air attaché Joe Alon. During our final conversation, he provided some key information on the matter.

https://www.bluebloodfilms.com/team

Fred Burton is a former police officer, special agent, and New York Times best-selling author. He's served on the front lines of high-profile investigations like the hunt for and arrest of Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind behind the first World Trade Center bombing; the 1988 plane crash of PAK-1 that killed U.S. Ambassador Arnold Raphel and Pakistani President Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq; and the search for Americans kidnapped by Hezbollah in Beirut, Lebanon. His best-selling books include his personal memoir GHOST: Confessions of a Counterterrorism Agent, Chasing Shadows: A Special Agent's Lifelong Hunt to Bring a Cold War Assassin to Justice, Under Fire: The Untold Story of the Attack in Benghazi, and his fourth book, Beirut Rules: The Murder of a CIA Station Chief and Hezbollah’s War Against America. Beirut Rules was optioned by Sony, and Chasing Shadows continues to generate interest and awareness by way of several recent interviews with Fred Burton.

https://www.officialfredburton.com/

Our CHASING SHADOWS feature project is a timely story rooted in the bestselling book, which explores this fascinating high-profile unsolved case from the 1970s. When author Fred Burton and I connected via social media, we began to uncover new details based on handwritten journals my father kept, and have now brought the story into the present day by way of this deeply personal connection.” – Ted Andre

Book Synopsis: On a warm Saturday night in July 1973 in Bethesda, Maryland, a gunman stepped out from behind a tree and fired five point-blank shots into Joe Alon, an unassuming Israeli Air Force pilot, and family man. Alon's sixteen-year-old neighbor, Fred Burton, was deeply shocked by this crime that rocked his sleepy suburban neighborhood.

As it turned out, Alon wasn't just a pilot – he was a high-ranking military official with intelligence ties. The assassin was never found and the case was closed. In 2007, Fred Burton – who had since become a State Department counterterrorism special agent – reopened the case.

In Chasing Shadows, Burton spins a gripping tale of the secret agents, double-dealings, terrorists, and heroes he encounters as he chases leads around the globe in an effort to solve this decades-old murder. From swirling dogfights over Egypt and Hanoi to gun battles on the streets of Beirut, this action-packed thriller looks into the dark heart of the Cold War to show how power is used, misused, and sold to the most convenient bidder.

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support

Virginia is a certified clinician and Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy and has 20+ years of experience serving Active-Duty Military, Veterans, Military retirees and family members. She is a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) and active American Group Psychotherapy Association member. Virginia is an Army Reserve Officer, Combat Veteran, and published researcher.

As a therapist, Virginia Cruse was becoming frustrated with the rumors her clients heard about PTSD that kept them from getting better. Why did so many of them believe that PTSD had no cure? That they couldn’t have PTSD because they were not in direct combat? That they didn’t “deserve” to have PTSD, or didn’t “deserve” to get better? The answer hit a nerve with Cruse: no one had taken the time to explain PTSD to Service Members in a way that made sense. Soldiers were losing their resiliency and optimism in a culture that propagated misinformation and went against the facts about PTSD, facts that are necessary to know in order to recover good mental health and salvage important relationships.

https://militarycounselingsa.com/
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support

Brett D'Alessandro - Backpacks for Life

Sgt. Brett D’Alessandro returned home from a seven-month deployment in Afghanistan to what he thought was the end of a long road. He learned very quickly that an even longer road filled with struggle and confusion lay ahead. After a challenging deployment, Brett and those whom he returned home, were now facing the hardest part of the process; reintegrating into their civilian lives while battling with the hidden wounds of war.

Following a face-to-face encounter with a homeless veteran on the streets of Rhode Island in the winter, something resonated with Brett. It wasn’t just him or those he was deployed with or this man on the side of the road…it was MANY veterans, nationwide, who had to deal with the trauma of coming home and not knowing where to turn. Brett took this moment as a sign to do more and be more for his fellow servicemen and women. That day, Brett distributed a backpack to this veteran filled with socks, t-shirts, and warming layers. From this simple act…Backpacks For Life was born.

Since 2014, BFL has devoted its life to make sure that no Veteran has to suffer by providing him/her with the correct tools to recover. These tools include coaching services, communal meals, making the veterans feel human, and letting each Veteran know that he or she isn’t alone. The recovery process is aided by countless hours of personal interaction and the physical distribution of backpacks. Backpacks represent the first line of defense, a symbol of hope, and so much more to the team at Backpacks For Life.

https://www.backpacksforlife.org/our-mission
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support

Dustin Gruss - Greatness Facilitator

I am Cleveland born and Cleveland bred, raised in the suburb called Berea, home of the Cleveland Browns. For many years people would be embarrassed by that last fact, but I am proud of it. I'm not demonstrating a poor taste in football teams, but instead, my support of the befuddled Browns franchise should tell you something else about me- my loyalty and appreciation for the underdog.

Just as the Browns have had their proverbial carousels of general managers, coaches, and quarterbacks over the last 20 years, I have had my share of carousels as well that have led me to where I am now. Allow me to explain.
I have over 20 years of experience in various customer service vocations- retail management, restaurant management, even a 7-year stint as a mail carrier in Central Florida. The consistent between all these vocations was my desire to meet and exceed the expectations of my customers, which I'd say I was pretty good at. The other consistent across all these jobs was the lack of sense of fulfillment I had despite how good I was doing at each. None of them made me feel like I was fulfilling my purpose. I enjoyed making my customers happy, but the gratification in those types of jobs leaves as quickly as it comes and it's on to the next sale. Deep down I knew there was something more.

https://www.stepuptogreatness.com/

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support

Gloria Grace Rand - Live, Love, Engage

Engage. - How to Stop Doubting Yourself and Start Being Yourself,” which details my journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening that began when my sister was diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The idea for the book came about during my regular morning meditation, two months before my sister transitioned. The “divine download” contained four principles based on the word love, which helped me heal my old emotional wounds, and finally live fully, love deeply, and engage authentically.

https://gloriarand.com/contact/
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support
