He is already in the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, now Lanny McDonald is going to the Canada Sports Hall of Fame.  He joins Mike Wier, Simon Whitfield, Cindy Klassen and Carol Huynh as the Class of 2017.

The CFL has decided to fire commissioner  Jeffrey Orridge after just two years on the job.  We try to get to the bottom of this story with our CFL insider Glen Suitor. 

The Flames and the Ducks open thier best of seven first round series on Thursday night and tonight we checked in with Ducks radio anaylst Dan Wood from the Ducks radio network. 

Our morning sports guy Dave Rowe took in the Flames final practice at the Saddledome before the team flew out to Disneyland.  Dave was able to go one on one with AGM Craig Conroy and Flames defenseman Derek Engelland. 

So who do you blame?  The NHL, The NHLPA or the IOC?  For the first time since 1994, we will not have a best on best hockey format at the Olympics.

The CFL draft will take place on May 7th, 2017.  The CFL combine was held this past weekend and we checked in with the Director of Canadain Scouting for the Calgary Stampeders. 

The battle continues for a new Calgary Entertainment Center.  Our mayor says Calgary Next is dead while Ken King, the president of Calgary Sport and Entertainment says it's only paused. 

It may be teh best CFL Hall of Fame Class ever.  Geroy Simon, Anthony Calvillo, Mike O'Shea and and former Stampeder Kelvin Anderson in the players category.  former U of S coach Brian Towriss and Stampeder exec Stan Schwartz in the builders category.  Soon Stan will be releasing a book about his 40 years in the CFL, the military and the Calgary Stampeders. 

It's all about improving the flow of the game.  We are not talking major changes but there are some tweaks as we discuss with our CFL Insider.

The Calgary Stampeders dipped back into the CFL free agent market today as they annoucned the signing of Bryan Hall.  Bryan adds another weapon on the defensive line and he joined me on Sportstalk. 

Why hasn't Theo Fleury been honored by the Flames in the Forever a Flames program?  It makes no sense to me.   Anyway, Theo has more important projects like the Victor Walk documentary that will make it's Calgary debut at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on June 2nd.  We hooked up with Theo on Sportstalk. 

Stampeder Presidnet and GM John Hufnagel says it best!  "Sugarfoot anderson was an iconic figure in Stampeder history."  The only player in franchise history to wear "00", he earned legions of friends and fans with his good humour and story telling prowess. Former Stampeder Jackie Kellogg looks back as the alumni honored Sugarfoot at last year's golf tournament.   

The Flames made a very interesting move at the NHL trade deadline today picking up 22 year old former first round draft pick Curtis Lazar from the Ottawa Senators for a 2nd round pick and D Jryki Jokipakka.  We tracked him down on Sports Talk with Jock.

The Flames are the hottest team in the NHL on a 9 - 2 - 1 run, picking up 9 out of 10 points on a recent 5 game road trip.  Micheal Stone has been a nice addition and Johnny Hockey is on fire.  We also ask Craig if the Flames should make a run at Patrick Sharp?

Jim Barker was fired by the Argos a couple of weeks ago and we were able to catch up as Jim is back from a holiday in Mexico.
