#107 Brooklyn Wedding Designer Michelle Edgemont
Michelle Edgemont is an event designer. And a florist. But not a planner. She can do florals for your wedding, and she can design your wedding, but she won’t design your wedding with another florist. Confused? Don’t be! Not every wedding planning process involves a designer. But for those that may...we hope this episode helps you decide how best to curate your wedding vision with the help of a professional designer.

#103 Unapologetic. Inspiring. Steph Grant. LGBT...
This is the story of photographer Steph Grant, told - sometimes chaotically - by Steph Grant. We had so much fun talking to Steph! She is a dear friend of Christy’s and we are sure you are going to fall in love with her. She is passionate, driven, endlessly energetic, compassionate and she seeks connection and expression in everything she touches. Steph shoots weddings (mostly lesbian) literally all over the world and her images tell a story of the wedding day, and the bigger love story of the couple. In this episode, we dive right in and swim all over! Steph’s nonprofit ‘Promote Love’ is growing exponentially and we’re here for it!

#99 Destination Wedding Retrospective - Trisha ...
Trisha (from Episode 67!) got married to Sutton this summer in New Orleans. They rented out a venue for the weekend and hosted guests from all over the country for 3 nights of hot, sexy, boozy, NOLA fun. They’re on the podcast telling us what they learned and what they loved about their ‘best weekend ever’. Also, Christy was a VIP guest at this wedding (that’s what we called the non-wedding-party-wedding-party-stayed-at-the-venue-with-Trisha-and-Sutton) so she has lots of opinions too...mainly that the entire weekend was a total dream. And also notes that when you host a wedding with beer and wine only, it’s a nice treat to stow good tequila for the VIPS before and after parties…!

As wedding planners, we love the ‘built in sentimentality’ of a venue that means something to our clients. But the logistics can be nightmarish. And hosting a wedding at your house may not save you money-- contrary to popular belief. You may even be shocked to learn that you may end up spending more! It’s a game of hidden costs, y’all.

YAWA time! You ask, we answer. We’re talking about the importance of a month-of planner, the difference between a day-of coordinator and a venue manager, and what to do when one partner’s family is complicated and small, and the other partner’s family is wonderful and big. Guest list creation brings out emotions sometimes, and we’ve heard from many couples about how stressful it can be. Let us help you!
