On the 12th Album Review Crew Episode of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Hollywood review the 1988 self titled debut album by Winger. The album was a mixture of glam and progressive rock filled with catchy songs and choruses, great musicianship and someone's great looks. The album went platinum and thanks to heavy MTV rotation for singles like Seventeen and Heading For A Heartbreak, Winger was on the fast track to stardom. This week Tom & Zeus review and discuss the 1977 NBC mini-documentary "Land Of Hype And Glory," which had a segment on KISS at their height of popularity. Narrated by veteran newsman Edwin Newman, the documentary focuses on salesmanship or hype in the late 1970's. The documentary is quite pessimistic and the curmudgeon host does his best to minimize KISS and speak of their fame and notoriety in a dismissive fashion. The documentary is split into three segments, music, books and movies and begins with "hype" in the music industry and specifically KISS. The show features a legendary photo shoot, classic clips of the band performing, a small interview and segment on the comic books. Its a must watch for any KISS fan and the guys give the show the SIOL treatment. This mostly acoustic album was the first EP in music history to go number 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Charts in the US. The album went on to go triple platinum and sell over 4 million copies worldwide. On the 9th Album Review Crew Episode, Tom, Zeus & Hollywood review the 1980 classic album Blizzard Of Ozz by Ozzy Osbourne. This was Ozzy's first solo album just after his release from Black Sabbath. This album featured the legendary guitar work of Randy Rhoads. The album catapulted Ozzy Osbourne into super stardom and the Prince Of Darkness never looked back.
