In a special one-off podcast Jeremy is joined by Justin Michael of RamsReport.com to get a feel with Colorado State which is in disarray after losing to Illinois State. Washington State vs. Wyoming game preview
Jeff Nusser of CougCenter.com joins the podcast to give us a preview of what this Washington State team will be as it travels to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowboys. The big notes are that the Cougars have a new quarterback in East Carolina transfer Gardner Minshew is likely the starter this weekend. The wide receiver group will be deep but may not have a stud who will haul in over 70 receptions but should be a group that has a bunch of guys catching between 40-50 passes. The biggest issue on the defensive side for Washington State is the defensive line that not only lost production from a year ago but also is very thin in returning talent. This could be an area where Wyoming has some success on offense and cause a headache for the Cougars. Michigan State vs. Utah State game preview
This latest mini-episode features Crowley Sullivan who covers Michigan State over at Spartans Wire and he joins Jeremy Mauss to preview the Utah State game vs. the Spartans on Friday night. The Spartans bring back nearly every player on both sides of the ball and over 90 percent total production. The defense could be the best in the country and the offense looks to be balanced in the run and pass game. However, the suggestion that Utah State will just be blown out is not entirely the case. Michigan State has struggled in openers and in the early part of games, plus the Aggies should be a pretty good team this year and at least be a pest toward the Spartans in this opening game. Colorado vs. Colorado State Football Week 1 Pre...
Podcast update: We will be doing more shorter and frequent episodes including ones like this where we interview someone who covers the opponent. Colorado State takes on Colorado this week in Denver, so we bring on Mike Singer who covers Colorado football at CU Sports Nation, part of Rivals and Yahoo. The main topics are what to expect from Colorado's offense which replaces quite a few starters and is replacing its offensive coordinator, but the expectations are that the offense will give the Rams trouble with starting QB Steven Montez returning. The defense was deep last year and even though they lose a few starters it should be as good, if not better. The Colorado defense will need to be up for the challenge as the Colorado State offense put up a lot of yards against Hawaii. Week 0 Mountain West Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the opening weekend of college football which features three Mountain West teams over two games. The two discuss the conference opener between Hawaii and Colorado State which features a whole new slew of coordinators and quarterbacks which should make for an interesting game this weekend. The other matchup will be an underrated matchup between New Mexico State and Wyoming which will be a really good game for defensive football mixed in with some not so good offense, or at least that is the theory. 2018 Fresno State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back for the final team-specific previews as we wrap with Fresno State. This means we have all of our win-loss predictions in the book. This Bulldogs preview focuses on if the 10-win 2017 season was the real deal or is it a fluke since that nine-win turn around was a one of a kind season. The only two areas of concern for Fresno State is the loss of talent at the defensive line and a new defensive coordinator. Besides those two areas, the Bulldogs return nearly the entire starting units and that is why 18 is expected to be even better. This episode is presented by Seat Geek, if you are heading to a college football game then pick up your tickets this way and you get to help out our show. https://seatgeek.com/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cj&utm_campaign=Jeremy+Mauss Here is our list of complete sponsors. www.MWCwire.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

2018 San Diego State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the upcoming San Diego State football season. The Aztecs are coming off its third-straight 10-win season and are hoping for more this year. They do return most of its offense outside of losing a few wide receivers but the big loss is Rashaad Penny now in the NFL. He will be replaced by running back Juwan Washington and with the entire offensive line back the drop off should be minimal. There are three key games on the schedule and they are all road ones against Stanford, Boise State and Fresno State. Can San Diego State win them all? 2018 UNLV Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the UNVL Rebels who are looking to have a year where they finally make a bowl game as Tony Sanchez's enters his fourth year in Las Vegas. A bowl game should happen as the offense is mostly back and this UNLV team will have one of the best running back groups in the league and QB Armani Rogers should be taking the next step in his second year as a starter. The defense is once again the issue and the Rebels do lose a bit from that unit, so a bowl game, or higher aspirations, could determine the fate of this UNLV season. This episode is presented by FuboTV and SlingTV, these are two streaming services which can help you watch nearly every Mountain West football or basketball game way less than traditional pay TV. bit.ly/FuboTVOffer or bit.ly/SlingTVOffer Also, head to MWCWire.com for more deals. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

First look at Florida vs. Colorado State
In this mini-episode, we chat with Brandon Blake who covers Nevada for our website here but he also is a very knowledgeable Florida Gators fan. So, we bring him on to get a first look at the Gators as they take on Colorado State. The Gators have a new head coach in Dan Mullen which means Jim McElwain does not get to face his former team he left. This Florida team has struggled offensively and have been carried by its defense but that could change in 2018. The defense wasn't amazing last year but it should be better with experience, and Mullen is a really good offensive coach so the hope is that more points will be scored. 2018 Hawaii Football Preview
Matt and Jeremy are back for another season preview and this week it is the Hawaii Warriors football turn to get dissected. The big news is that the Warriors have a new offensive coordinator and will utilize the run-n-shoot but they will be doing so with a new quarterback and a new running back. QB Dru Brown transferred to Oklahoma State to finish his career so there is a new signal caller with a new offense. Having WR John Ursua back is going to be a boon and there will be plenty of balls thrown to this unit. The defense which struggled last year probably will do so again in 2018 making this year probably short on wins but possibly exciting with a pass-happy offense. First look at BYU football
Mitch Harper covers BYU, basically everywhere and he joins the podcast this week to discuss the Cougars football team since they play Boise State, Utah State, and Hawaii this year. The BYU offensive coaching staff turned over basically everyone, including offensive coordinator Ty Detmer who is being replaced by Jeff Grimes who previously was the offensive line coach at LSU. QB is an issue as there are at least four in the mix, including Tanner Mangum who has the most starting experience. Former Hawaii WR Dylan Collie is expected to make a name for himself right away. The expectations for BYU is a bowl game and also to go 2-1 against the three Mountain West teams they face in 2018. 2018 San Jose State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the San Jose State football team. They are a team where last year was basically a Year Zero situation with Brett Brennan being a first time coach coming in from Oregon State where he was a wide receivers coach. The offense has the potential to be pretty good with Montel Aaron very likely being the starting quarterback and showed signs of promise in the running game with Tyler Nevens and they have one of the best tight ends in Josh Oliver. Also what will be key is if the offense doesn't give up the ball over 40 times, so if they can cut that down then that should help the Spartans be more competitive. 2018 Air Force Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Air Force Falcons upcoming season. It may seem like the same old same old for the Academy in that they run the ball a lot, throw deep passes periodically and have a defense that is just so-so. That is what this Falcons team is but one key omission is that they do not have a defensive coordinator at the moment, or maybe it is a well-guarded secret because this is a school Tu is part of the armed forces. It would not be a shock if this defense is just a bit better and the offense hums along and a bowl game is reached, or maybe they will just win a pair of games. Tune in to find out. 2018 Wyoming Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back (sorry for the week off) to preview the now Josh Allen-less Wyoming Cowboys. The big questions for this Cowboys team is who will be the starting quarterback next year with the early leader being Tyler Vander Waal after spring football. There is some decent experience back at most offensive positions but it was really bad experience. So, if the offense can be just about average the defense could carry the way for Wyoming. PODCAST: Mountain West NFL Draft Recap
Jeremy and Matt are back to talk about the happenings from the NFL Draft from over the weekend and from a Mountain West perspective. Mountain West basketball: Utah State has a big ...
Jeremy and Eli are back after a short holiday break to go over the past week of Mountain West hoops and a look ahead to what is to come. The team of the week is Utah State which won in overtime against Fresno State and then topped UNLV on the road. Wyoming also had a solid week by coming back from 16 down to beat Boise State, at the Dome of Doom, and are going to likely play spoiler at some point. Larry Eustachy has some odd quotes and Brandon McCoy, rightfully, tweets out for Rebel fans to relax. This episode is presented by eBates. Hawaii Bowl Preview: Houston vs. Fresno State
Matt and Jeremy are back to preview possibly the best Mountian West bowl matchup when Houston takes on Fresno State in the Hawaii Bowl. The biggest name in this game is Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver who was a consensus All-American and won the Outland Trophy award. The Bulldogs bring a defense which is one of the two best that the Cougars have faced this year, but Houston has finaly gained some consistency of quarterback play over the past month. Finally, will Houston suffer an impact by not having an offensive coordinator since Brian Johnson left to take a job with Florida. This episode is presented by Seat Geek. Armed Forces Bowl Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Armed Forces Bowl between Army and San Diego State. The two don't sugar coat it and feel the Aztecs are the more superrior team, but these are also not the old Black Knight teams of the past decade which have been awful.
