Boise State continues spring football and the latest players to speak to the media this week were RB Ryan Wolpin, DE Chase Hatada and NT Sonatane Lui. Mountain West spring football, NFL Combine talk
Jeremy and Matt are back to talk actual football news as we discuss the NFL Combine as well as start to talk about spring football. There was a ton of news in spring we will discuss more next week so that we keep the shows about one hour. In the combine news, we try to decide which Mountain West back will have the best NFL career and/or get selected first. Jeremy eats some crow about Jalen Robinette vs. Calvin Johnson. Yes, Megatron was a freak with his 4.35 speed but Robinette has size and can catch nearly anything that is thrown his way. Also, SDSU's stadium situation keeps getting wild as there is a real possibility that the Aztecs could play at least one season at Petco Park. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

Mountain West basketball tournament primer
Jeremy and Eli are back to preview the Mountain West tournament. We dive into the bracket and make predictions on what team is hot at the right time (hint: only Nevada) and what teams could cause an upset. The tournament starts late morning on the West Coast with an intriguing opening round game between San Jose State and Utah State, but do not expect the winner go move on farther than that in the bracket. A few teams to watch for who are not in the top three seeds are San Diego State who has experience in the tournament and has been a mainstay in the title game over the past decade, Fresno State who won the whole thing last year and then New Mexico who is great at getting to the free throw line and they have Tim Williams back who is a big help. The odds favor Nevada winning the whole thing and it looks right now that they are only going to get into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Mountain West tournament. So, it is a winner take all scenario. Also. Jeremy and Eli have a stupid upset title game prediction. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

Final week of Mountain West regular season bask...
Jeremy and Eli are back for the final regular season baskeball show. The duo focus a lot on the winner-take-all conference title game on Saturday that features Colorado State at Nevada which also happens to be their first and only matchup of the year -- that is due to unbalanced scheduling with 11 Mountain West teams. We both make the same pick as to who will win the conference title and yes we realize it is not ideal that this game is only on ESPN3, but there are plenty of ways to find that game with your pay TV provider. We discuss end of season awards and also what New Mexico could accomplish with Tim Williams cleared to start practicing. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

What is the best 90s one-hit wonder?
This week's edition of the Mountain West podcast has nothing to do with sports. In this episode we have Jeremy, Matt, Eli and Brandon joining the show. With this being the offseason for football we decided to have some fun and do a non-sports show based on MarchFadness and this year's bracket is 1990s one-hit wonders. We spend the hour breaking down our favorite songs, making fun of terrible one's and trying to figure out the seeding. Colorado State, Nevada facing a showdown for th...
Jeremy and Eli are back to talk some Mountain West and it sort of breaks out into the future of Nevada head coach Eric Musselman with a few options on what he might do if the Wolf Pack continue to have success. As for on the court items, Colorado State keeps on surprising us and winning and at some point we should not be surprised any more with their recent winning streak. The Rams are in line for a regular season title showdown with the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday March 4. If both win their weekday game then the Mountain West title will be decided on that final Saturday. Also, sorry UNLV fans. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

Boise State head coach Leon Rice discusses win ...
Boise State defeated San Jose State on Saturday, 85-78, and currently sit one game behind Nevada and Colorado State for first place in the conference title with two games left. That is what Broncos head coach Leon Rice is focusing on after the win over the Spartans saying, "We're still trying to play for a title." Might be tough to win the title with so few chances left but Boise State has a favorable schedule by hosting Fresno State and then travel to Air Force to end the season on March 4. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

Good news, bad news about Colorado State basket...
Jeremy and Eli are back for another game of "Who is in first place in the Mountain West." This week it is Colorado State who leads the conference but there is also a lot of bad news about their head coach Larry Eustachy. This happened a few years ago and reportedly has improved his coaching style since then, but it is not a good look for the Colorado State basketball team. Boise State introduces Eric Kiesau
Boise State stayed within the conference to hire its next wide receivers coach by bringing in former Fresno State offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau. While the Bulldogs offense was not great this past year the one area that was mildly successful was the wide receiving group for the Bulldogs. Mountain West basketball: Nevada step on up!
Jeremy and Eli are back for another Mountain West hoops podcast and we begin the show discussing the incident that happened between Colorado State and New Mexico. Luckily for us, it has been nearly a week and a lot of information came out and we can now give our thoughts on what happened now that more details, even though not completely, have been presented. We dive into Boise State's recent struggles now that they have fallen back into the field with two league losses and are behind Nevada for the top of the conference. Also, is there a chance Fresno State sneaks into the top half of the league based on how well they play at home, and did New Mexico finally find a much needed third scorer for this team Also, there is fast food chat on the show. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

Boise State is starting pull away from the Moun...
Mountian West basketball has plenty of talent but the wins are lacking among the conferene. That is why this league is all but assured to be a single bid team -- I know a broken record. Well, at this early point in the season the conference is led by Boise State at 4-0 and the Broncos are pulling away from the rest of the league. That all could change very quickly in this league as road victories are tough and the Broncos still have away games at Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming; Boise State gets a benefit from the schedule by not having to play at San Diego. We discuss a little bit of bracket, the ending of New Mexico and Nevada plus a look ahead ot the important games this week. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support
