2018 Fresno State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back for the final team-specific previews as we wrap with Fresno State. This means we have all of our win-loss predictions in the book. This Bulldogs preview focuses on if the 10-win 2017 season was the real deal or is it a fluke since that nine-win turn around was a one of a kind season. The only two areas of concern for Fresno State is the loss of talent at the defensive line and a new defensive coordinator. Besides those two areas, the Bulldogs return nearly the entire starting units and that is why 18 is expected to be even better. This episode is presented by Seat Geek, if you are heading to a college football game then pick up your tickets this way and you get to help out our show. https://seatgeek.com/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cj&utm_campaign=Jeremy+Mauss Here is our list of complete sponsors. www.MWCwire.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

2018 San Diego State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the upcoming San Diego State football season. The Aztecs are coming off its third-straight 10-win season and are hoping for more this year. They do return most of its offense outside of losing a few wide receivers but the big loss is Rashaad Penny now in the NFL. He will be replaced by running back Juwan Washington and with the entire offensive line back the drop off should be minimal. There are three key games on the schedule and they are all road ones against Stanford, Boise State and Fresno State. Can San Diego State win them all? What the heck happened at Mountain West media d...
Yes, Mountain West media days were done just over a week but Jeremy and Matt are back to discuss all what went down in the desert. We compare how the media voted to our votes in the order of finish and all conference team. Plus, we talk about three big stories at the event which included not promoting the league, expansion talk and is it better to have one amazing team are a bunch of above average one's. We also touch on some news that is happening around fall camp which is now underway for the league. 2018 UNLV Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the UNVL Rebels who are looking to have a year where they finally make a bowl game as Tony Sanchez's enters his fourth year in Las Vegas. A bowl game should happen as the offense is mostly back and this UNLV team will have one of the best running back groups in the league and QB Armani Rogers should be taking the next step in his second year as a starter. The defense is once again the issue and the Rebels do lose a bit from that unit, so a bowl game, or higher aspirations, could determine the fate of this UNLV season. This episode is presented by FuboTV and SlingTV, these are two streaming services which can help you watch nearly every Mountain West football or basketball game way less than traditional pay TV. bit.ly/FuboTVOffer or bit.ly/SlingTVOffer Also, head to MWCWire.com for more deals. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

First look at Florida vs. Colorado State
In this mini-episode, we chat with Brandon Blake who covers Nevada for our website here but he also is a very knowledgeable Florida Gators fan. So, we bring him on to get a first look at the Gators as they take on Colorado State. The Gators have a new head coach in Dan Mullen which means Jim McElwain does not get to face his former team he left. This Florida team has struggled offensively and have been carried by its defense but that could change in 2018. The defense wasn't amazing last year but it should be better with experience, and Mullen is a really good offensive coach so the hope is that more points will be scored. 2018 Hawaii Football Preview
Matt and Jeremy are back for another season preview and this week it is the Hawaii Warriors football turn to get dissected. The big news is that the Warriors have a new offensive coordinator and will utilize the run-n-shoot but they will be doing so with a new quarterback and a new running back. QB Dru Brown transferred to Oklahoma State to finish his career so there is a new signal caller with a new offense. Having WR John Ursua back is going to be a boon and there will be plenty of balls thrown to this unit. The defense which struggled last year probably will do so again in 2018 making this year probably short on wins but possibly exciting with a pass-happy offense. First look at BYU football
Mitch Harper covers BYU, basically everywhere and he joins the podcast this week to discuss the Cougars football team since they play Boise State, Utah State, and Hawaii this year. The BYU offensive coaching staff turned over basically everyone, including offensive coordinator Ty Detmer who is being replaced by Jeff Grimes who previously was the offensive line coach at LSU. QB is an issue as there are at least four in the mix, including Tanner Mangum who has the most starting experience. Former Hawaii WR Dylan Collie is expected to make a name for himself right away. The expectations for BYU is a bowl game and also to go 2-1 against the three Mountain West teams they face in 2018. 2018 San Jose State Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the San Jose State football team. They are a team where last year was basically a Year Zero situation with Brett Brennan being a first time coach coming in from Oregon State where he was a wide receivers coach. The offense has the potential to be pretty good with Montel Aaron very likely being the starting quarterback and showed signs of promise in the running game with Tyler Nevens and they have one of the best tight ends in Josh Oliver. Also what will be key is if the offense doesn't give up the ball over 40 times, so if they can cut that down then that should help the Spartans be more competitive. 2018 Air Force Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back to preview the Air Force Falcons upcoming season. It may seem like the same old same old for the Academy in that they run the ball a lot, throw deep passes periodically and have a defense that is just so-so. That is what this Falcons team is but one key omission is that they do not have a defensive coordinator at the moment, or maybe it is a well-guarded secret because this is a school Tu is part of the armed forces. It would not be a shock if this defense is just a bit better and the offense hums along and a bowl game is reached, or maybe they will just win a pair of games. Tune in to find out. 2018 Wyoming Football Preview
Jeremy and Matt are back (sorry for the week off) to preview the now Josh Allen-less Wyoming Cowboys. The big questions for this Cowboys team is who will be the starting quarterback next year with the early leader being Tyler Vander Waal after spring football. There is some decent experience back at most offensive positions but it was really bad experience. So, if the offense can be just about average the defense could carry the way for Wyoming. The defense will be loaded with multiple first-team all-conference players and possibly an All-American in defensive back Andrew Wingard. This episode is presented by FuboTV and SlingTV, these are two streaming services which can help you watch nearly every Mountain West football or basketball game way less than traditional pay TV. bit.ly/FuboTVOffer or bit.ly/SlingTVOffer Here is our list of complete sponsors. www.MWCwire.com Or here: https://www.patreon.com/MWCwire --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mwwire/support

2018 NBA Draft Preview: Mountain West edition
Jeremy and Eli are back to talk some Mountain West hoops and the NBA Draft. The two players who we discuss are Boise State's Chandler Hutchison who could be taken anywhere from 16-28. The other player we chat about is UNLV's Brandon McCoy. Early preview of Wisconsin vs. New Mexico
In the first of our non-conference previews we chat with Jake Kocorowski of Buckys 5th Quarter to get an early look at Wisconsin as they host the New Mexico Lobos on Sept. 8. The Badgers offense is the star of the show as they return All-American running back Jonathan Taylor, most of an experienced offensive line, solid wide receivers and quarterback Austin Hornibrook. That offense should have an easy time against the Lobos but the defense for the Badgers while talented needs to replace quite a bit from last year. 2018 Colorado State Football Preview
Next up in our Mountain West football preview is the Colorado State Rams who are entering a year of uncertainty in Mike Bobo's fourth year. Bobo has only one win against rivals, Boise State and bowl games, so this year could be a turning point. The Rams have two new coordinators and starting quarterback Collin Hill is not likely to play next year as he tore his ACL in late February, his second in his career.
