With the 2023 trade deadline approaching, the Anaheim Ducks have some tough decisions to make. One of those big questions has to do with their goaltending situation in the long term. The San Diego Gulls finished the unofficial first half of the season with a pair of games at Coachella Valley where JD Hernandez had a front-row view of Lukas Dostal trying to stop the top team in the AHL. The Firebirds pulled out a last-minute victory in game one, and game two was a slaughter. Dostal then flew out to Laval where he displayed his best stuff at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic. He was named co-MVP of the All-Star Game, and finally got some much deserved accolades.

The Gulls tried to beat the AHL's best team at Acrisure Arena, but the lack of players led to another loss. However, the Gulls finished the week with a BIG turnaround game against the Condors where Rocco Grimaldi was the star of the game.

The Anaheim Ducks put together their best performance of the season against the Coyotes in an atmosphere fitting for a team that plays like a college squad. Troy Terry gets back on track with an impressive 3-point night, could this be a promising sign for the rest of his season? This one is all over the place, but we've got to talk about the difference between the Sabres rebuild and the Ducks current rebuild.
