Albums Unleashed Warrant Dog Eat Dog - Ep224
In August of 1992, Warrant were flying high on the success of the mega-huge Cherry Pie album. While the success was nice, the band wanted to go in a tougher direction with their next album. Enlisting super producer Michael Wagener, the band headed into the studio in 1991 to lay down tracks for what would become Dog Eat Dog. Filled with big, crunchy riffs on songs such as Machine Gun, Hole in My Wall, and Inside Out, experiments in darker subject matter on tunes like Bitter Pill and Andy Warhol was Right as well as melodic tunes that could bring the house down such as Let it Rain and Sad Theresa, Dog Eat Dog was poised to be one of the all-time classic rock albums. The only problem was, a scraggly trio from Seattle named Nirvana was taking the world by storm literally days before the release of Dog Eat Dog. The tide shifted overnight and this amazing album never got it's just due....until today. Albums Unleashed Warrant Dog Eat Dog Producer Michael Wagener sits down with Chris and Aaron this week for Albums Unleashed Warrant Dog Eat Dog - Ep224. In this hour-plus discussion you'll sit along with the guys as they talk about the origins of the album, how Michael was selected as producer, pre-production stories and a full-on track by track that puts you in the room as Michael listens to the album for the first time in many years. It's one of the most in-depth Albums Unleashed episodes Decibel Geek has ever released. So, sit back, enjoy Albums Unleashed Warrant Dog Eat Dog - Ep224 and SHARE with a friend. More Michael Wagener!
