Former KISS guitar tech Barry Ackom joins us this week to share some incredible KISS Road Stories! Hired on to work for the band during the Alive! tour, Barry would pull double duty doing guitar tech work for both Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley. His tenure with The Hottest Band in the Land lasted through Alive II around 1978. Barry had a front row seat to the fast ascent of KISS and was a part of numerous landmark moments in the band's zenith. We barely scratched the surface in this entertaining chat but touch on topics such as the sold out 3 night run at Cobo Hall in 1976, the Anaheim Stadium show, the making of Destroyer, and KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park! Other subjects covered include a hilarious story of a barefoot Ace Frehley in Sweden, Ace getting shocked in Lakeland, Florida, and the subsequent use of wireless gear. Also, Barry shares how his Chicago-area band Lois Lane was almost a farm club for KISS replacement members. We get into some cool behind-the-scenes KISStory this week with our Conversation with Vincent DiGerlando! Vincent worked for Howard Marks Advertising for 14 year and, by proxy, KISS. Meeting the band in 1974, he would go on to design the iconic KISS Army logo! Additionally, Vincent had a major hand in several landmark KISS albums and products including the album covers for Double Platinum, the 78 solo albums, Unmasked, and Creatures of the Night. We're back this week to focus on all the news in the rock and metal world with New Noize 9! There's a lot of bleak news outside of the music world these days so we hope to provide a brief escape from it all in this episode. Starting things off, we give our in-depth review of the latest Ozzy Osbourne offering 'Ordinary Man'. Did we love it? Did we hate it? Do we disagree with each other? We're blessed to be joined by Tommy Skeoch this week as he reflects on the Tesla classic 'Psychotic Supper.' Coming on the heels of the successful 'Five Man Acoustical Jam' album, Tesla hit the studio in New York playing with house money. The recent success afforded them free reign to create an album devoid of record company pressure. The band went to work with producers Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero. The resulting album is a sonic platter of greatness. Psychotic Supper sounds as fresh today as it did in 1991. Boasting five successful singles including What You Give, Edison's Medicine, Song and Emotion, and Call It What You Want, Psychotic Supper achieved platinum status.  In this long-form discussion, Tommy Skeoch shares his memories of the making of this great album. We tackle some heavy stuff this week as we explain how we were Universally Rejected. A growing group of rock podcasts were recently booted off Spotify and we were one of them.
