How to know how good your eyes are? Nowadays, there are lots of gadgets around us. We stare at our computers and mobile phones all day, every day, and of course this affects our vision. How many people feel their eyes aching at the end of the day, or have blurry vision and eye dryness? All of these symptoms can indicate ophthalmic problems.There are a variety of vision deficiencies: colorblindness, near- and farsightedness, and astigmatism are the most common problems. Sometimes, a person doesn’t even know they have these issues — they just think that everyone sees this way. So do you wanna find out exactly how good your vision is and what you can do to improve it? We have a little test for you. You have to complete 9 simple tasks. Don’t forget to add one point to your score for every correct answer. Let's start! Keep your eyes closed for about a second, and then open them. Do this at least 20 times, and then move on to the next exercise! Focusing on a certain side will help your eye muscles become stronger and ensure their good work. Don't overdo it, though! Performing this exercise once or twice a day is more than enough to keep your eyes healthy. You can do the eye bounce exercise while standing up, sitting, or even lying down! All you have to do is move your eyes up and down quickly about 10 times. When you’re done, rest for about a minute. Then repeat the exercise but with your eyes closed this time. This exercise is kinda self-explanatory: You have to sit straight, look in front of you, and trace a path as if you're drawing a giant 8 with your eyes on the wall in front of you. Don't cheat by moving your head — only your eyes should work here. Repeat this exercise about 5 times, and then go on with your day! Make sure you’re sitting straight, and tilt your head back a little bit. In this position, close your eyes, and place your index and middle fingers on your eyelids. Move the fingers of your right hand in a counterclockwise direction and the fingers of your left hand in a clockwise direction. Do this for about a minute, change directions, and repeat for one more minute. Plank Every Day for a Month, See What Happens t...
How to tone you up your body in just a month? I’m sure you’ve heard it all before. “Planking is a full-body workout!” “You can totally transform your body in less than 5 minutes a day just by planking!” Well, I’ve definitely heard it plenty of times, so I finally decided to try it out for myself. Here’s what happened when I did the 30-day plank challenge. I planked for 20 seconds on the first 2 days, for 30 seconds on days 3 and 4, and for 40 seconds on the 5th day. On days 7 and 8 of my experiment, I held a plank for 45 seconds. On days 9, 10, and 11, my goal was to do it for at least a minute. And that's when my confidence kinda faded. On day 14 I planked for 100 seconds, and on day 15 it was 110 seconds. My core was quaking like crazy, and my eyes were glued to my phone, waiting desperately for the timer to hit zero. After a little rest, I perfected my 2½ minute plank on days 20 and 21 and challenged myself to a 3-minute plank on days 22 and 23. It was around this time in the experiment when I noticed the tension that’d usually build up after sitting at my work desk all day was gone. On days 27 and 28, I did a 4-minute plank and already noticed that my abs were a lot stronger than they’d been at the start of the experiment. There wasn't that much of a difference visually, but I could feel that holding my plank was a lot more effortless than before. I didn't end up with a six-pack, which is a real bummer because I was kind of expecting that for some reason. But I definitely feel way stronger and healthier. Another thing that I’ve noticed is how much my posture has improved. What really surprised me was how much my mood and general approach to life has changed. I became way more confident and determined to not only finish the challenge but to change my life for the better as well. If you wanna try this experiment out for yourself, there are a few more things you need to know. First of all, don't be afraid of variety. Doing the same thing every single day gets a bit boring after a while. Don't forget about your doctor's permission! I know the plank seems really basic, but that doesn’t mean it’s without risks. How Long Foods Stay In Your Stomach
How long does the process of digestion last? Do you find yourself still hungry no matter how much you eat? If so, you might be eating foods that are too high on the glycemic index. It’s definitely something worth knowing if you’re struggling with excess weight. The glycemic index is a system of values given to foods according to how quickly they cause an increase in blood glucose levels. To put that in layman’s terms, it basically measures how fast different foods are digested by the body. Glucose is a simple sugar that gives your body energy, and you get it from the foods you eat. Your blood is what carries this sugar throughout your body to all your hungry cells and tissues. That’s why it’s called blood glucose. If you eat something that’s high on the index, your blood glucose will spike, giving you a fast boost of energy.
