In 1812, young Prince Kaspar Hauser, who was around 16, appeared mysteriously in Nuremberg with no knowledge of his past, sparking rumors that he was a missing royal. Some believed he was the rightful heir to the Grand Duchy of Baden, stolen as a baby to secure another family's rule. Modern scientists recently re-examined the case using advanced DNA analysis. Scientists have discovered something incredible—the "ancient heart" of the Milky Way! It’s a group of about 18,000 stars that are some of the oldest in our galaxy, dating back more than 12 billion years. These stars formed when the universe was young and the Milky Way was just starting to take shape. In case you’re one of them and are looking for simple DIY remedies for bad breath – we have something just for you. You can keep your breath fresh as it can be following some secret tips and using products you most likely already have. The International Date Line (IDL) is one of the weirdest things on the map—it’s not a straight line at all! It zigzags to avoid splitting countries, islands, and even some communities into different days, which would be super confusing. Imagine one side of your house being a day ahead of the other! There’s a bizarre object out in space that’s not a star and not a planet, but it’s hotter than the Sun! It’s called a “brown dwarf,” sometimes nicknamed a “failed star.” Brown dwarfs are too small to start nuclear fusion like real stars, but they’re much bigger and hotter than regular planets. One brown dwarf, called WD 0032-317B, is especially strange because it gets heated up by a nearby white dwarf (a super-hot leftover core of a dead star). This makes its atmosphere reach temperatures of over 14,000 degrees Fahrenheit, hotter than the surface of our Sun! It’s a wild example of how weird and surprising the universe can be. We know way more about space than we did one hundred years ago. -From the age of Galileo to the nineteenth century, planet referred to any object orbiting the Sun. So astronomers kept finding countless planets. -We know that Pluto is only one 459th the size of planet Earth, making it smaller than the moon and only about twice the size of the former planet Ceres. Charon may be smaller than Pluto, but not that much smaller. One half the diameter might seem like a big difference, but not compared to the differences in size between the other planets and their moons. -While Eris is slightly smaller than Pluto, initial measurements placed it as somewhat more massive. This added one more strike against Pluto’s status as a planet. -First, a planet must orbit the Sun. Number two is that the object must be a sphere, or at least nearly so. Pluto checks the first two boxes but runs into trouble with number three, which says a planet must have "cleared the neighborhood" around it. -Scientists who disagree with the IAU’s ruling and want to call Pluto a planet once more propose that any object with enough mass to maintain a spherical, or nearly spherical, shape would qualify as a planet.
