March 17, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 102 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this late Thursday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the first full day of the 2023 NFL league year that took place on Thursday that included the Pittsburgh Steelers agreeing to terms with yet another outside unrestricted free agent linebacker.<br /><br />We begin our discussion by passing along the Thursday news of the Steelers deciding to cut veteran inside linebacker Myles Jack after one season. We discuss the move in its totality, how much salary cap space was saved with that transaction, and more.<br /><br />The Steelers did agree to terms with inside linebacker Elandon Roberts, formerly of the Miami Dolphins, on Thursday, so we spend a lot of time discussing the tape we have both watched of him from the 2022 season. We go over what his signing would mean and what impact, if any, it might have on the position when it comes to the 2023 NFL Draft.<br /><br />Two newly signed Steelers, cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Nate Herbig, held their introductory press conferences on Thursday so Alex and I discuss the key takeaways from those two media sessions in this show.<br /><br />The Steelers have now restructured the contract of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, so we go over the details related to that move in this show. We go over what that decision means and if we think any of those four players will get re-signed to cheaper deals in the coming days. We also go over how long the list of non-tendered restricted free agents there were around the NFL this year.<br /><br />The Steelers did agree to terms with inside linebacker Cole Holcomb, formerly of the Washington Commanders, on Wednesday, so we spend a lot of time discussing the tape we have both watched of him from the 2022 season. March 15, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 100 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this late Tuesday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the second day of the annual NFL legal tampering period and how it included several more moves related to the Pittsburgh Steelers.<br /><br />We start by talking about the Steelers agreeing to terms with former New York Jets guard Nate Herbig earlier on Tuesday. We have both watched a little tape on Herbig since the news about him broke and we go over our notes on the former undrafted free agent out of Stanford. Later in the show, we go over the full contract details related to Herbig.<br /><br />The Steelers also reportedly re-signed safety Damontae Kazee and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi on Tuesday so Alex and I go over those decisions. We don't have the full contract details yet on both of those players but we do have some financials to pass along. We go over what the re-signings mean and more.<br /><br />Late Tuesday afternoon we learned that the Steelers will be losing inside linebacker Robert Spillane in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. In this late Monday night show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the start of the annual NFL legal tampering period and how it included two moves related to the Pittsburgh Steelers.<br /><br />We start by talking about the Steelers losing unrestricted free agent cornerback Cameron Sutton to the Detroit Lions about midday on Monday. We go over what the Steelers lost on defense with Sutton signing elsewhere, the details of the contract that he signed with the Lions, and other tidbits related to that move.<br /><br />The Steelers did follow up the loss of Sutton by signing former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson on Monday. We go over the early details related to his two-year deal that are out there, what he brings to the Steelers and what all he had to say on Monday to former Pittsburgh cornerback Bryant McFadden during their podcast episode.<br /><br />Alex and I have both watched a little bit of tape on Peterson since he agreed to terms with the Steelers and go over what we observed. March 8, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 97 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the start of the 2023 NFL league year now being one week away. We also discuss the franchise tag deadline results from Tuesday with most of that talk centering around the Baltimore Ravens using the non-exclusive variety on quarterback Lamar Jackson.<br /><br />We go deep into the Ravens’ decision to give the tag to Jackson, what it means for both sides, and if indeed there is some sort of collusion possibly going on between NFL team owners due to the immediate reports that surfaced surrounding several franchises apparently having no interests in signing the quarterback to an offer sheet this offseason. We also briefly discuss the New York Giants signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a very lucrative new deal right before the tag deadline.<br /><br />With the 2023 NFL scouting Combine now behind us, Jonathan Heitritter and Joe Clark, both of whom represented the site in Indianapolis this past week for the annual pre-draft event, join Alex and I. The four of us have a roundtable discussion with most of that being takeaways that Jonathan and Joe have from the this year’s combine. The four of us spend roughly 45 minutes talking about what took place in Indianapolis.<br /><br />After the roundtable discussion, Alex and I have a quick discussion about USC guard Andrew Vorhees, who tore his ACL during drills while participating in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. That discussion revolves around whether the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider selecting Vorhees in the 2023 NFL Draft even with there being a good chance he could miss his entire rookie season, or at the very least, most of it.<br /><br />As usual, we close out this show by answering a few questions we have received this last week from listeners of the show. March 6, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 96 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about what all took place at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine since our Friday show. That means we go over the cornerback, safety, offensive linemen, wide receiver, quarterback and running back groups.<br /><br />Alex and I talk quite a bit about several players at the combine that we learned quite a bit more about over the weekend. We also talk about the possibility of a top tackle or cornerback falling to the Steelers at 17th overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.<br /><br />We go over a few key pro days that will happen in the next two weeks as it relates to the Steelers.<br /><br />We make sure to discuss the several position groups that the Steelers seemed to have the most interest in at the combine when it came to formal meetings in Indianapolis. In this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about all that has happened so far at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.<br /><br />We talk about the interests the Pittsburgh Steelers have had so far in certain position groups at the combine to start the show.
