In this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the start of the annual college pro day cycle and where all we have spotted scouts from the Pittsburgh Steelers.<br /><br />The Steelers, as expected, did not receive any 2023 compensatory draft picks on Thursday so Alex and I discuss that news, in addition to talking about a few other NFL teams and their outcomes. We also go over the Steelers' official draft selections on the heels of those being known Friday morning.<br /><br />The start of the 2023 NFL free agent signing period is next week so Alex and I roll through the Steelers list of unrestricted players and attempt to predict who will stay and who will go when it comes to those players. We actually differ in opinion on a few of them.<br /><br />Alex released his defensive player free agent wishlist on Friday so we go through each of the players that he highlighted on it.<br /><br />As usual, we close out this show by answering a few questions we have received this last week from listeners of the show. March 8, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 97 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the start of the 2023 NFL league year now being one week away. We also discuss the franchise tag deadline results from Tuesday with most of that talk centering around the Baltimore Ravens using the non-exclusive variety on quarterback Lamar Jackson.<br /><br />We go deep into the Ravens’ decision to give the tag to Jackson, what it means for both sides, and if indeed there is some sort of collusion possibly going on between NFL team owners due to the immediate reports that surfaced surrounding several franchises apparently having no interests in signing the quarterback to an offer sheet this offseason. We also briefly discuss the New York Giants signing quarterback Daniel Jones to a very lucrative new deal right before the tag deadline.<br /><br />With the 2023 NFL scouting Combine now behind us, Jonathan Heitritter and Joe Clark, both of whom represented the site in Indianapolis this past week for the annual pre-draft event, join Alex and I. The four of us have a roundtable discussion with most of that being takeaways that Jonathan and Joe have from the this year’s combine. The four of us spend roughly 45 minutes talking about what took place in Indianapolis.<br /><br />After the roundtable discussion, Alex and I have a quick discussion about USC guard Andrew Vorhees, who tore his ACL during drills while participating in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. That discussion revolves around whether the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider selecting Vorhees in the 2023 NFL Draft even with there being a good chance he could miss his entire rookie season, or at the very least, most of it.<br /><br />As usual, we close out this show by answering a few questions we have received this last week from listeners of the show. March 6, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 96 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about what all took place at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine since our Friday show. That means we go over the cornerback, safety, offensive linemen, wide receiver, quarterback and running back groups.<br /><br />Alex and I talk quite a bit about several players at the combine that we learned quite a bit more about over the weekend. We also talk about the possibility of a top tackle or cornerback falling to the Steelers at 17th overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.<br /><br />We go over a few key pro days that will happen in the next two weeks as it relates to the Steelers.<br /><br />We make sure to discuss the several position groups that the Steelers seemed to have the most interest in at the combine when it came to formal meetings in Indianapolis. Just a lot of combine and pre-draft talk that includes going over the future of a few events in addition to a few injuries that took place over the weekend.<br /><br />With the 2023 combine now over with, Alex has a new mock draft released so we go over it from top to bottom during this show.<br /><br />As expected, the Tennessee Titans will be releasing outside linebacker Bud Dupree soon, according to Monday morning reports, so Alex and I discuss the probability of him returning to the Steelers this offseason.<br /><br />As usual, we close out this show by answering a few questions we have received this last week from listeners of the show. In this Friday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about all that has happened so far at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.<br /><br />We talk about the interests the Pittsburgh Steelers have had so far in certain position groups at the combine to start the show. We then dive into the on-the-field results from Thursday at the scouting combine when it comes to the first three position groups, defensive linemen, edge rushers and linebackers.<br /><br />Alex and highlight several solid performances from Thursday's combine action and especially when it comes to players that we believe best fit for the Steelers. In this Wednesday show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about all that Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan had to say on Tuesday during his media rounds at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.<br /><br />With it sounding like Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky will indeed be in Pittsburgh through at least the 2023 season, we discuss the possibility of him signing a contract extension in the coming weeks and what that might look like if he does. We also discuss a voidable year restructure with Trubisky as a plan to lower his 2023 salary cap charge.<br /><br />Khan talked about cornerback Cameron Sutton, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, quarterback Kenny Pickett and defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal on Tuesday so we go over those topics quite thoroughly in this show.<br /><br />We make sure to discuss what all Khan said about the upcoming draft, how the draft room will work this offseason and much more.
