April 5, 2023 -<br /><br />On this Wednesday episode of The Terrible Take, Alex Kozora flips over to looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers' slot wide receiver outlook this draft season.

April 5, 2023 - <br /><br />Season 13, Episode 110 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers recent addition of Glenn Thomas as the team's new offensive assistant. We also talk a little about his past link to quarterback Kenny Pickett.<br /><br />The Steelers also have finally formerly announced Gerald Alexander as the team's assistant defensive backs coach after he was apparently on the staff last season. We address that development and how we missed him in 2022.<br /><br />The Steelers 2023 pre-draft visitor list continues to grow so Alex and I recap who all has visited with the team, or is planning to visit. We look at the overall list to date in totality once again as well.<br /><br />Some numbers related to the contract signed by new Steelers safety Keanu Neal have been reported so Alex and I quickly go over those. We also discuss the formal announcement from Tuesday of four recent players who have inked deals this offseason.<br /><br />The Steelers are almost surely going to restructure the contract of outside linebacker T.J. Watt at some point this offseason so Alex and I discuss what that might look like. We also have a good conversation about the contract extension prediction I recently made for fellow Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith later in this show.<br /><br />We answer a few listener questions late in this show to close things out. We drill down into position coach sightings, area scout sightings and much more.<br /><br />Alex and I discuss the growing pre-draft visitor list on this Monday that now includes a few wide receivers. We also discuss the Steelers outlook when it comes to the nickel cornerback position.Is the lack of interceptions that cornerback Joey Porter Jr. had at Penn State a concern? We briefly hit on that topic after some research that I did on former first-round cornerbacks that exited college with a low interception amount.<br /><br />The Steelers will need to decide roughly a year from now if they want to pick up the fifth-year option on running back Najee Harris, so Alex and I discuss that topic for a bit. We go over how each might be used in the Steelers' defense and if the addition of either means anything related to the 2023 NFL Draft.<br /><br />The Steelers reportedly had free agent outside linebacker Bud Dupree back in Pittsburgh on Thursday for a visit, so we go over that bit of news. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the latest news concerning Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has now made it known that he requested a trade in early March.<br /><br />The Steelers have had a few more signings since our last episode so Alex and recap all those transactions. We talk about tight end Zach Gentry being re-signed and what his contract might look like. We also discuss the Steelers signing free agent tackle Le'Raven Clark and go over the details of his one-year contract. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the latest concerning safety Terrell Edmunds as it now appears that he won't be re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. We also discuss a free agent safety still on the market who could potentially fill Edmunds' role in the defense.<br /><br />The Steelers had a large contingent at the Ohio State and Alabama pro days this week so Alex and I discuss who was spotted where. We discuss several of the prospects they likely paid close attention to while at those pro days. We talk about Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Steen and defensive back Brian Branch a lot early in this show. Alex and I move on to spend a lot of time talking about Ohio State tackle Dawand Jones on the heels of his pro day. We wonder if pre-draft process has caused the big tackle to now have a few red flags when it comes to the Steelers.<br /><br />The Steelers had linebacker coach Aaron Curry at the Wisconsin pro day on Thursday so Alex and I discuss a player he was likely getting a closer look at, Nick Herbig. We discuss a potential position switch for Herbig at the NFL level and if he could potentially be a day-three Steelers' selection due to all the dot-connecting. We talk about what his one-year deal probably looks like and more.<br /><br />The Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly shopping tackle Jonah Williams so Alex and I quickly hit on that news and if there is any possibility that the Steelers might have interest in trading for him. We also address the news that the Steelers reportedly had some interest in outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel prior to him re-signing with the Miami Dolphins recently.<br /><br />It's been a busy week once again for Steelers general manager Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin on the pro day circuit so Alex and I recap their trips to Iowa State and Iowa so far this week.
