3.16 Sleep Tight
Look, Scoobies... We promised you that things would never get bad on Angel and that we'd always be happy here on Angel on Top, and... Well, hey—we're still doing better than our nemeses over at Buffering the Vampire Slayer right now, right? Right. So just "Sleep Tight," because we'll get through this particular emotional hurdle together. (Do you like how I used the episode title in context like that?) Sure, Angel might not get over losing his son to Holtz and a Hell dimension, and Wesley might not get over having his throat slit, but... Hey, Fred and Gunn were really cute in this episode, right? Again: Right. So join your hosts (a couple of goofs) LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more) as they discuss "Sleep Tight."

3.15 Loyalty
Remember Holtz and Justine? Well, they're back. Please don't hold that against the episode, because it's otherwise pretty great — just like Mr. Dad! Join your hosts (a couple of goofs) LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more) as they discuss "Loyalty," an episode about, you guessed it: loyalty. And that pesky Nyazian prophecy. (And how "terrible" Wesley looks. Just "awful." You'll hear us talk A LOT about that particular point.)

3.14 Couplet
Scoobies, our friends at Angel Investigations are coupling up. Well, some of them are. (Sorry, Angel and Wesley. And Lorne too, though he doesn't seem to have any major issues with it.) Join your hosts (a couple of goofs) LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more) as they discuss "Couplet," an episode about love (both unrequited and requited), tech-savvy tree monsters, and Kristin Russo's muscle-bound archnemesis, the Groosalugg.

3.13 Waiting in the Wings
Scoobies, the wait is finally over, and it is time for "Waiting in the Wings." That's right, the gang at Angel Investigations is stepping (and tripping) out — and The WB circa 2002 is absolutely buzzing about it. As are your hosts, LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more), who just can't get enough of "Giselle." (Psst. That's the ballet they see in this episode of Angel.)

3.12 Provider
Scoobies, we have been waiting all season, and finally, it is here: Angel Investigations has a paid case. Multiple paid cases, even!' Which is really good news right now, because Daddy Angel has mouths to feed. Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more) as they discuss "Provider" (AKA "Provider: Daddies All Around"), an episode that begs the question: Has anyone ever actually seen the feature film Money Monster? Because we think it'd look a little like this...

3.11 Birthday
'Allo, Scoobies! This is a special episode of Angel, innit? (Okay, that was for all the Tammy fans.) That's right, we have finally approached "Birthday" in our viewing schedule. Wait, whose birthday? Cordelia Chase's, of course! So, baby — stay awhile. Especially since this episode is one of your Angel on Top hosts' favorite episodes of Angel. Join said hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis, and so much more) as they discuss "Birthday," an alt-world episode that is also technically a mallpisode.

3.10 Dad
Fatherhood is quite the adventure, isn't it, Scoobies? It definitely is when you're new father Angel — and that's even before the car chase to the abandoned mine in the desert. Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis) as they discuss the appropriately-titled episode "Dad," a story about that old saying that it takes a village to raise a child (and keep it from being dissected or turned into baby soup). Or it at least takes a few rogue demon hunters and a vampire with a soul. LaToya and Morgan also do some pretty terrible Holtz impressions in this podcast episode, if that's what you're into.

3.09 Lullaby
Oh, Scoobies. It is time for one heck of an emotional rollercoaster, both for unexpectedly expecting vampire parents Angel and Darla and your newly-minted podcast parents LaToya and Morgan. But you know what? To quote the Shawn Mullins song "Lullaby": "Everything's gonna be alright." As long as you don't question Sahjhan's motives at all, that is. Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis) as they discuss "Lullaby," a story about revenge (and how irrational it can be), redemption (and how it can't change things... even if it tries), and really, just how great of an actress Julie Benz is (duh).

3.08 Quickening
It may be February, but allow us to transport you back to November 2001 for some network sweeps shenanigans in the form of a vampire pregnancy. Darla is about to give birth to a baby that may or may not "skitter" out of her, Holtz is armed with knowledge of the moon landing (but very little about Angel's current deal), and the creeps employed by Wolfram & Hart have never been creepier. Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis) as they discuss "Quickening," a story about the literal horrors of birth *and* various baby-dissecting factions.

3.07 Offspring
Good news: Darla's back! Bad news: Angel doesn't quite take that (or the fact that she's super pregnant) like the enlightened "manpire" he claims to be. To be perfectly honest, Angel's behavior is pretty disappointing... but fortunately, this episode is not! Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad, AKA Theodore K. Mullins and Frank Scabopolis) as they unpack "Offspring," a story about kyrumption, moira, and the Buffyverse's less-than-flattering views on sex.

3.06 Billy
Hey, Scoobies. Remember that young man Angel broke out of his own personal Hell dimension in order to save Cordelia's life back in "That Vision Thing?" Well, uh... he's back now. And as it turns out, there was a very good reason he was in his own personal Hell dimension. (Sorry again for Angel's behavior, Skip.) Join your hosts LaToya Ferguson and Morgan Lutich (AKA the Cordelia and Fred of the Bufferingverse, AKA Bones and Also Bones, AKA the Gunn Squad) as they unpack "Billy," a story about primordial misogyny in men -- whatever that means. CW: Discussions on sexual violence are contained in this episode

3.05 Fredless
The crack detectives over at Angel Investigations still have yet to be paid for a case this season, but you know what they have done, Scoobies? No, Cordy hasn't had a vision yet. No, Gunn hasn't made amends with Lorne. No, Wesley hasn't found an Angel impression that isn't all forehead. And no, despite what we went through last episode -- horny body swap shenanigans -- Angel hasn't stopped being super charming to Fred. But now, they have finally met Fred's parents! That's right, Fred has parents, y'all. And now, they are no longer "Fredless." Join LaToya Ferguson as she and guest host Brittany Ashley (maybe you've heard of her) sing offkey in between talking all things Fred and "Fredless."

3.04 Carpe Noctem
Four episodes into this season of Angel, and Angel Investigations still hasn't done a paid case. (So maybe get off your high horse about that whole saving people for money thing, characters over on the B-word show.) But you know what they have done? Well, besides tackling race relations, they have also given us another body swap episode to add to the canon, with "Carpe Noctem." Behold what is arguably the horniest episode of Angel, to the point where even the official WB promos for it included dick jokes for the episode's subtitle. (Seriously.) Join LaToya Ferguson as she and guest host Morgan Lutich unpack all the horniness of this episode -- whether they like it or not -- as well as the glaring logistics of the fact that no one immediately said, "Hey, Angel's been body swapped!" This is a strange one, Scoobies.

3.03 That Old Gang Of Mine
So... Remember how Gunn decided to simply ignore all of his problems at home during the Pylea arc at the end of Angel Season 2? Well, those problems have popped right back up, and well, Gunn continues to handle them poorly. Really poorly. Almost as if there was a lack of interest in even telling the story of Gunn's problems at all. That's right: It's "That Old Gang of Mine" time, and as it turns out, Angel the series has *not* gotten better at tackling human race relations. Join LaToya Ferguson as she and guest host Mack MacDade get to the bottom of why this episode doesn't work, how it actually could have worked, and Angel's (mmm, Angel) casual leather pants. (Look, it's not all about heavy issues. Sometimes it's just about Angel in leather pants.)

3.02 That Vision Thing
Don't know if you've heard, but Cordelia's visions from TPTB are *literally* killing her. So keeping that in mind, "That Vision Thing" finds a way to make that whole dilemma even worse -- and it's all Kal Penn's fault! (Though it is nice when Fred compares Cordelia to a dog and when Angel... compares Cordelia to a car. Look, you've gotta take the small victories sometimes.) Join LaToya Ferguson as she continues to embark on this journey as Angel on Top's new-and-nervous host, this week with the help of guest host Connor Goldsmith, possibly the only person who can challenge LaToya in terms of Angel nerd cred.

2.22 There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb

0.01 Race in the Buffy and Angelverse
The absolutely brilliant LaToya Ferguson, Alanna Bennett, and Ira Madison III host today's conversation on race within the Buffy and Angelverse! This is the first in a larger series that will be produced and hosted by BIPOC Buffy fans here on the Buffering the Vampire Slayer and WOW — what a way to begin. These three TV geniuses bring their encyclopedic knowledge of both series to the table with questions like: What would have happened if Leonard Roberts played Riley? Why in the hell was Drusilla able to kill Kendra — an immensely powerful Slayer — with one filed f*cking fingernail? How would it have impacted the arc of the universes if Bianca Lawson had been cast as Cordelia? This. Episode. Fucking. Rules.
