Necessary Tomorrows brings us three stories that seem like fantasy from our present: animals are people, capitalism is banned from outer space, and we have become kin with AI. The series will teach us the discipline of hope by meeting the writers who dream of these futures, and the activists, scientists and thinkers who are turning these visions into reality today.

The series is hosted by Ursula, an AI instructor from the future whose algorithm has detected anxiety from the listener about the state of the world in 2065. Ursula encourages us to study the 2020s, a turbulent time that was unsettling for many, and in which radical changes in the structure of the world seemed possible.
