Wes struggles to restrain himself when it comes to bringing up the Silmarillion and Jeff just struggles to say Silmarillion. Somehow we end up ranking "hot" tolkien characters with emojis.

Payne Lindsey of Up and Vanished and Radio Rental fame joins the guys to talk about the shocking origins of the phrase "A dingo ate my baby!" Payne brings some very welcome investigative know-how to the show as Wes tells the horrifying true tale of a dingo attack that shook Australia throughout the 1980s.

Jeff once again takes the lead to tell the tragic and cautionary tale of Marius, a South African man with a penchant for the outdoors and exotic animals, and his pet hippo Humphrey. Wes dives deep into how many people are killed by hippos every year, and then the guys wrap things up by discussing their favorite drug dealers (we promise it makes sense by the end).

Wes talks about a few recent run-ins with bears, while Jeff and Mike share a handful of other notable recent animal attack news headlines for the July 2022 Animal Attack News Roundup. The guys then talk about animal mimicry and, of course, Lord of the Rings, in the categories.

Stephen Campbell got a lot more than he bargained for when he was attacked from behind while pipelining near Grande Prairie, Alberta. Wes takes advantage of another opportunity to talk about Lord of the Rings, Jeff channels his inner WWE wrestler, and Mike is once again insensitive about people experiencing emotions.

A fishing expedition quickly turns into a nightmare when a group of three friends find themselves shipwrecked off the coast of Townsville, Australia. The nightmare becomes that much more real when they realize they aren't alone in the open water.

Wes covers an oft-requested story concerning Todd Orr and the bear who attacked him two times in a single bloody and unfortunate morning. We then do a deep dive into bear safety tactics and talk about just how good of a tool bear spray is.

We start things off by getting into some of the more notable animal attack news stories from the past couple of months, and then have a really fascinating interview with Clara Jessup, who was bit by a venemous rattlesnake and had a really difficult time getting treated properly.

Another roundup of animal attack headlines that have popped up over the past month or so that we thought you'd all be interested in hearing about. Jeff also helps us to understand the hard reality of how the events unfolding in the Ukraine are affecting their animals and zoos.

We're talking about camels. In light of the recent attack that resulted in the tragic death of two people at a Tennessee petting zoo, Wes put together a little smorgasbord of camel attack stories to explain why a camel might become so aggressive and the dangers they can present if we aren't careful around them.

Another shark attack on our hands (fins?) and Wes, as always, did a great job researching and preparing to talk through the story of one surfer's unlucky encounter with a great white shark.

In a first, Jeff takes the lead and does a great job of taking us all through the tragic tale of Harambe, the western lowland gorilla who was shot and killed in his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo in 2016. R.I.P., Harambe. You may be gone, but you won't be forgotten.

We finally get around to talking about the incident down in a Florida zoo involving Eko the tiger, and share our thoughts on what the fallout of the unfortunate incident was and should be.

Third and final episode of Night of the Grizzly. Wes walks us through the immediate aftermath of the worst night in the history of Glacier National Park, and how it completely altered how we look at and deal with grizzly bears, as well as how much needed to change in park visitor safety. If you haven't heard parts 1 and 2 yet, we strongly recommend you do, as Wes prepared like a man possessed to tell the story as accurately as possible.

A cobra attack takes place in the South Indian state of Kerala just a couple of months ago. There's a lot of intrigue and an unusual amount of evil going on in this episode compared to most of our others, so hang on to your seats.
