This 1967 film, directed by Robert Aldrich and adapted from E.M.Nathanson's novel, featured an all-star cast playing a squadron of death row reprobates sent to bomb a chateau full of Nazi generals (an inspiration for later films like <em>Inglourious Basterds</em> and <em>The Suicide Squad</em>).
