Transforming Lives-Women Of Faith And Hope
Join me as we kick of Breast Cancer Awareness month with a woman whose diagnoses gave her the courage to organized a support group for African American women who faced breast cancer. Women of Faith and Hope operates to encourage, enlighten and empower women about issues related to breast cancer in efforts to reduce the mortality rate through early detection; to offer spiritual and emotional support to women and their significant others. WOFAH was established to educate and support women faced with breast cancer, especially African-American women. Novella K. Lyons, whose first experience with the disease was through her mother’s death from breast cancer in 1975, was diagnosed with the same cancer in 1993. Inspired through these life-changing events, Lyons formed WOFAH in 1996 to fill a gap in the Philadelphia community; no other organization existed to offer support for African American breast cancer patients. These women are strengthened through a common bond of spiritual fellowship. WOFAH has touched over 38,000 women since its inception, whom they have encouraged to continue in the fight against breast cancer. Want a FREE audio book? Go to Audible.com and you can get one. Organizing The Creative Entrepreneur Using Tech...
When you need to schedule a meeting with a client do you still pick up the phone?  Are you managing projects by piling information and documents on your desk? If you are away from the office does your team have access to client and project information?  Join me and Melissa Jackson, Owner of Normel Solutions as she shares way to incorporate technology in how you run your business. Melissa S. Jackson is the owner & operator of Normel Solutions – a web services agency for creative entrepreneurs. Founded on this idea that entrepreneurs should be tech enabled despite how well (or not so well) they understand technology. The goal is to expose entrepreneurs to new tools and give tips on how to interact with technology. ‘Normel’ entrepreneurs attack their greatest challenge – technology –by understanding themselves first and then their businesses in depth. One of the things Melissa talks about and you'll hear in the overall theme of her conversations with people is this idea of adding context to content. To do this she often ask 'why' several times to get to the root of client’s  needs and understand the story behind their business needs - relating it all back to their digital strategy. It allows her to help them get to the core of what they need and provide tools accordingly.  Want a FREE audio book? Go to Audible.com and you can get one.
