Episode 242 - Seemingly coming out of nowhere, California's Point North has made a massive splash in the last couple years with their own brand of Pop-Punk, releasing EP's and singles, and doing tours with some of the biggest bands in the scene. But singer Jon Lundin has been at it for nearly a decade behind the scenes, working as an engineer and producer, and also a songwriter. We chat about their incredible new and hilarious record that was recorded in Thailand, their approach to writing nothing but pirate themed music, and the story behind their track "Shit Boat". Episode 229 - Mina Caputo of NYC legends Life of Agony joins the show! After releasing several classic hardcore influenced Alternative-Metal albums in the 90's (including the seminal "River Runs Red") Mina left Life of Agony to pursue a solo career. After a return to the band in 2002, Mina transitioned in 2011 only to have the band go on hiatus again. In 2014, Life of Agony came back in a big way, singing to Napalm Records and putting out new music, including the hit single "Scars". Shane and Mina discuss growing up in NYC in the 80's, their first trip to Europe in the 90's, the departure of drummer Sal Abruscato, and much much more.

Episode 228 - This episode was a long time in the making, almost lost forever, but believe me - it's worth the wait. Nick Thomas, the insanely talented frontman of The Spill Canvas joins the show! After signing to Warner Bros, and successful major label album under their belts, it was time for the follow up. Nick Thomas went through a lot of stress, co-writes he didn't want to do, and the result was a drug addiction which overtook the band, and eventually his whole life. Now, after confronting his demons and a stint in rehab, Nick and The Spill Canvas are back with a new single, a new podcast series, and also a new album (hopefully) coming this fall!

Episode 227 - Platinum selling Canadian pop star Kiesza is a former Navy sniper (you read that right!), ballet dancer, beauty queen and, in more ways than one, the Calgary-raised singer and songwriter is unique. She has written for Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson, worked with Duran Duran and collaborated with Skrillex, Pitbull and Diplo. Her debut album, Sound of A Woman, sold more than a million copies and then the two-time JUNO Award seemingly vanished overnight. Hit by a taxi in her adopted hometown of Toronto in the summer of 2017, Kiesza initially thought she had escaped lightly with just a bang to the head and a busted wrist. It wasn’t until the following day that her head began to swell and the balance on the left side of her body went. Tests revealed that electrical pathways to one side of her brain had shut down and the following years meant a gruelling road to recovery for Kiesza as she recovered from the brain injury. 2020 marks a rebirth for Kiesza. After spending 2 years recovering from her injuries she is back and ready to embrace the female pop landscape with a bunch of incredibly catchy tunes.

The two lead vocalists from probably the busiest band in music, we talk about the 7 things they have going on right now, including their new album "White Line Fever" (not about cocaine), and their AWESOME variety show "Are You Listening? A Sunday Night Streamo Show" which everyone should check out. We also discuss Devin's departure and return to the band, their super involved fanbase and fan club, and how they cope with living all over the country while still doing so many projects together.

Episode 225 - COME JOIN US! I speak to Dave Hause, former frontman of The Loved Ones, now a solo artist for the last decade. We talk about his start as a roadie working for other band, having twins, the transition and challenges from playing solo to a full band, getting sober, and why The Loved Ones didn't end up being the biggest pop-punk band in the world.

Episode 224 - While under quarantine in his London flat with just his cat, Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari joins the show! With a (fantastic!) new album and no way to promote it, Shane and Rou discuss self-producing the record, the idea behind an instrumental Classical track (“Elegy for Extinction”) and Rou dancing his ass off in the “{ the Dreamers Hotel }” video. Also discussed his Rou’s sometimes mysterious personality, (still) not doing VIP’s, and the great friendship between the 4 still original members of Enter Shikari.

Episode 223 - It's not every day you get to talk to a diamond selling LEGEND like Scott Stapp! After a very public battle with addiction he is 5 years clean - and cleaning up on the radio with his new hit single "Survivor". Scott and Shane discuss the current pandemic, the good ol' days of being the biggest band on the planet, the infamous half time show - and the new craze - the "Creed bomb". But the bigger question looms .... could we see a Creed reunion?

Episode 222 - Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins joins the show!! One of Shane's all-time favorite bands, Jim and Shane discuss their beginnings in the AZ punk scene and their unlikely story getting signed to a major label, the song "The Middle" from both Jim's and Shane's perspective, and the one time Jim accidentally walked on Shane's bus while on tour in Boise.

Episode 221 - Tim Barry, known for his solo material and also for being frontman of Richmond VA punk band AVAIL joins the show! It's March 24th, and Tim is at home unpacking groceries when he calls me. This is right at peak "who knows what the f is going on time" and it shows. Tim and I speak about the unknown time ahead for musicians, the transition from Avail into his solo stuff, his approach to recording ("if I don't get it in 3 tries, it doesn't come out") and also some life hacks on how to save money on baggage fees while flying.
