Morgan needed answers about possible tampering in Avarice’s brain, but CL053T wouldn’t permit Talos Ivo to perform a scan on the Savant, so Morgan asked CL053T to do it instead and the scan revealed no anomalies. She then asked Talos Ivo to explain his religious doctrine, determined that his benefits outweighed the risks, and ordered CL053T to dedicate some of his time to giving the Mechanicus the tools he needed to tinker moving forward. Meanwhile, Damien and Solomon investigated Judge Rex’s quarters. Solomon recognized the scent of the sleeping salt residue and Damien found a stummer, confirming that the Judge was abducted against his will, but raising the question of why on the Judge was taken. While the intruders were sucked into space through the open airlock, Morgan, Damien, and Solomon managed to hang on until Talos Ivo secured the seal once more. They got a brief look at the enemy ship before its cloak engaged, but with a damaged engine, the Lucky Strike was stuck in place for now. Once Avarice was set free, the savant revealed that his bifurcated brain had allowed the intruders aboard, and he had initially assumed that it’s what Valentyne had wanted. With Judge Rex nowhere to be found and Morgan injured and poisoned, Brother Solomon and Damien continued to fight their way out of their room. Damien unleashed a powerful blast to eliminate most of the intruders in their immediate vicinity, a gun servitor cleared the rest, and CL053T pointed them in the direction Morgan had been taken and secured Talos Ivo. Morgan managed to shake off the effects of the poison, but as Damien and Solomon entered the aft hold, the hostile ship pulled away, leaving the Lucky Strike’s airlock wide open and everyone inside at risk of being sucked into the void. As Solomon duelled the Incubus, the wraithbone Warp gate opened a portal to Commorragh, and the Archon grew impatient, popping the heads of Governor Darius and the Astropath. Damien summoned his psychic abilities and finished off the Incubus, but the powers in the Warp overwhelmed him and he became possessed by the Deamon Kestrel. Morgan decided to leave the governor to his fate in favour of saving Damien, and she and the rest of the agents spoke holy words of encouragement until Damien finally forced Kestrel out once more. As the Deamon was pushed back, a light shone down and, miraculously, Darius was somehow alive. The band fought and destroyed the massive Spyrer Amberlin. Morgan used the password Hydra Dominatus to access the throne room where two Drukhari bearing symbols of the Kabal of the Bladed Cage held Darius and his Astropath hostage. As they reached an impasse with words, the Archon suggested a duel between the Incubus and Solomon. As the two fought, Morgan called Romeo in to stealthily observe the rest of the room. The servitor identified two hostage adepts of the Mechanicus working on what appeared to be a wraithbone arch, but the purpose the arch—whether as an escape path for the Archon or an entry point for Deamons—could not be determined. As the agents attempted to drive through the main gate of the governor’s estate, their rank spike was flagged, alarms sounded, and the guard attacked. Amberlin had obviously been forewarned. Their driver drove through wildly anyway in their armoured vehicle, and when they were finally stopped by an unyielding door, Morgan used her rosette to open it and they entered the ground floor of the mansion. They stimmed themselves up for as much advantage as possible and fought their way to the upper floors, heading first towards Darius, the young governor. After fighting through troopers and gun servitors, they faced a Spyrer who called out the name Amberlin as they attacked. Having saved a few hundred Imperial citizens, the agents patched themselves up and reported back the Beatrice Hawkstar, who introduced them another member of the family, Usinger. When Morgan relayed the information about Drukhari involvement, Usinger realized that Amberlin was consorting with xenos. They decided they would put Usinger’s forces on the xenos problem, Beatrice’s forces would provide a distraction, and the agents would enter the governor’s mansion with a small team to covertly extract the young governor, Darius. Mogan hoped that the rank spike given to her by Beatrice would let the team enter stealthily. Amidst the burning xenos ship, the agents faced off against a Drukhari ambush: a powerful Sybarite alongside Kabalite warriors. Rex 2 took a lot of damage and the Judge went down, but Damien healed him and was surprised to be bestowed with additional protection from the warp. When the skirmish ended, Judge Rex took a Drukhari head as a trophy, Solomon became concerned about this strange behaviour, and Damien made Morgan explain how she knew Drukhari words: she had studied them and their language after her last encounter with them. Knowing there were more Drukhari ships in the burrows, they decided to take the xenos raider for themselves. They flew through the tunnels and closed the void shield behind them, causing the pursuing Jetbikes to crash as they escaped. Deep in the burrows, the Inquisitorial agents heard the screams of people facing off with Drukhari in the darkness of the tunnels. Solomon and the Judge hid amongst the burning shacks and prepared an ambush. Humans emerged and staggered towards them wearing explosive collars, forced to curse the Emperor, follow by a large, floating pirate-like ship bearing twelve Kabalite warriors. Damien hurled a flaming sphere onto the ship, hitting several enemies and setting the sails ablaze, and Morgan took careful aim and took out the heavy gunner. Solomon cleaved another warrior in two, and the Judge used his shock maul to smash the warrior bearing down on Solomon, then set Rex 2 to finish it off. The team dealt with the warriors at the front, but found themselves facing the rest of the Drukhari on board.
