<p>Approximately two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the one and only Tawny Kitaen in what I can only assume is one of her last interviews ever.&nbsp;Tawny was full of life, happy, generous, pleasant.&nbsp;We talked for almost two hours.&nbsp;She followed up after in a series of texts, as kind and sweet as can be. She lit up when she talked about her daughters which were clearly her greatest accomplishment in life.</p><br><p><br></p><p>Tawny went to her first rock concert at age 14, saw how the singer’s girlfriend got full VIP access and treatment and decided, “hey, I want that.”&nbsp;Tawny went out and made that happen.&nbsp;A rocker gal by nature, Tawny dated the guitarist from Ratt while in high school.&nbsp;From there she graduated, and “graduated”, by marrying Whitesnake’s lead singer.&nbsp;Although they divorced years later, she is most notorious for being “that girl” in the Whitesnake video.&nbsp;With that career defining moment she went from “groupie” to wife and celebrity.&nbsp;Choreographer Paula Abdul took one look at Tawny’s moves on the set of the Whitesnake video shoot and said, “you don’t need my help” and left!&nbsp;Tawny graced our small screens with roles on many of our beloved shows including Seinfeld (who she also dated), Married...With Children and America’s Funniest People.&nbsp;Before it was the “cool” thing to do, Tawny transitioned from “actress” to reality star starring in VH1s “The Surreal Life” and “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew”.&nbsp;Speaking of Reality TV, who could forget Tawny’s 2017 appearance on E’s mega-hit Botched with Doctors Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif.&nbsp;Of course, there was also that star studded role with Tom Hanks in Bachelor Party.</p><br><p><br></p><p>What follows is an unedited, almost two hour, chat with Tawny as she shares stories from a life well lived opening up about career and personal highs, some of which have never before been revealed.&nbsp;She discusses the book which she was working on because, as stated, “if I don't write my life story, somebody else is going to, and they're going to do it off of sound clips, that aren't true and aren't real about me. We discuss the difference between how the show was marketed, portrayed and perceived as a series of rich young entitled Long Islanders versus the reality of the struggles, both financially and emotionally, most of the cast were facing off camera in real life. Chanel also opens up about how hard it is to film a reality show with your real life friends and how it is almost impossible for many of those friendships to survive the strains of Reality TV.
