Rand Paul Tells 'The View' Hosts "I Promised No...
Over the weekend I came across a video from Rand Paul's appearance on The View.  Rand fielded criticism of his support for Trump's decision to pull US Troops away from the Syrian border. We pulled several clips from the interview and offered up our comments on the rambling ignorance that is "The View."  Can we talk about how crazy it is that we have a table of Liberals arguing with a Republican about how it's wrong for us to NOT be at war? It's clear people's opinions are mostly drawn from political biases, not from actual beliefs or principles.  Not to mention the fact that now it seems like the Kurds have struck a deal with the Syrian government for protection, as they should have. It is not, and never has been, our job to police the entire world. Doing so it costly. Not just in money, but in over 6,000 American soldiers' lives. It's long past time for the governments on that side of the world to step up and get the job done. I'm pointing at you UK, Spain, France, Germany, etc.  Visit www.goodmorningliberty.us for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology. Democrats Unload on Trump Over His "Dangerous" ...
<p>Trump's decision to pull troops away from the Turkish border in Northern Syria has drawn massive amounts of criticism from both sides of the political isle. Is Trump the most Anti-War president we've had in my lifetime? Possibly.&nbsp;</p> <p>Let's dissect the problem between the Kurds, and the Turkish government. They've been fighting each other for decades. It must be acknowledged that the Kurds have been our only consistent ally in the fight against terrorist groups in the Middle East. What we just did will in fact lead to their demise, more than likely.&nbsp;</p> <p>We also have to acknowledge the fact that Turkey is a NATO ally. We can't fight Turkey, because that would technically open up the door for their allies to defend them. Who are their allies? Well, that's Canada, UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, you get the idea. Maybe this is why George Washington warned against forming "entangling alliances?"&nbsp;</p> <p>Regardless of the implications, it's not America's job to protect people in the Middle East. It isn't now, and it never has been. We've been the World Police for far too long. We've wasted trillions of dollars, and lost almost 7,000 troops in the region. It's time for another country to step up. Perhaps one of the countries that are on that side of the world? England is only a couple thousand miles away, compared to the US, who are over 10,000 miles away. It's time to bring the troops home. Not just from the border in Northern Syria, but from all of the battle fronts in the Middle East.&nbsp;</p> <p>Tell your friends about the podcast. Bernie Lie #5,354 - "The Rich Pay a Lower Tax R...
Bernie Sanders is the king of manipulated statistics. He always has been, and he's only getting better at it. You can check the article Bernie was pointing to for his latest claim here.   The article itself debunks its own title, of course, at the end of the article:  |||On the question of tax burden, Jason Furman, an economics professor at Harvard who chaired the White House Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama, noted that Saez and Zucman did not include refundable tax credits, such as the earned-income tax credit (EITC), in their analysis. The credit, which is intended to encourage low-income families to work, “is part of the tax code,” Furman said.  A person who paid $1,000 in federal income taxes and then received a $1,500 credit would have a total federal tax burden of -$500, but Furman said that under Saez and Zucman’s analysis, that person would instead show a burden of $0. That result would make total tax burdens at the lower end of the income spectrum appear higher than they are. ||| On its face, it looks to be true. It even sounds true, worded in a perfect manner that would make the best tricksters envious. What's playing in its favor is that people want it to be true. It is however, very false.  Read the entire article at this link.   Visit www.goodmorningliberty.us for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology.  Visit www.BernieLies.com if you want to read specifically about the many lies told by one of America's greatest manipulators.  Get your own "Bernie Lies" T-Shirt on our Etsy store.  In Liberty, Charlie & Nate  P.S. AOC Realizes She Forgot to Destroy the Entire E...
AOC is at it again, again.  As if the Green New Deal wasn't destructive enough, AOC pinpointed a few portions of the economy she forgot to destroy in her first $90+ trillion bill.  Now she wants to institute a national rent control. Capping rental increases at no more than 3% per year. Not only is this a bad idea, it's also been a terrible reality for those living under strict rent control in places like New York, and San Francisco. Regardless of the intentions, Rent Control is a price control. Setting caps on free market prices has always led to shortages. In this case, the shortage would be (and has been) in housing. Thats nothing to joke about.  When we control prices charged for rent, you might feel as though that's helping the people that can't afford higher prices. In fact, like most government policies, it hurts the very people it aims to help. Rent control leads to a decreased investment in housing. Those who have money to invest, have choices in the areas in which they want to invest their hard-earned money. In a free market, they may decide that the financial benefit of building apartment complexes outweighs the potential risks. Regardless of the feelings you had in reading that statement, it's the truth of the situation. In a price controlled market, people with money will choose to invest elsewhere. Prices must always be free to fluctuate. In a market where you've basically only allowed the prices to fluctuate down, you're going to get less investment, and subsequently less available housing. Such as we've seen in the case of housing shortages in cities that have strict laws on rental prices.  In addition to that, she wants to move the poverty line to take into account your ability to afford "neccessities" like high-speed internet. This would undoubtedly, and by design, move hundreds of thousands if not millions more into the "poverty" category. Creating a much greater need for more welfare spending, and of course, high taxes. Let's all take a moment to appreciate the fact that we live in a society so great, that not having access to high-speed internet can make you "impoverished."  As if that wasn't all destructive enough, she wants to officially make welfare available for everyone, regardless of their immigration status. This might be a trivial question, but does math even matter anymore? Is there any consideration for the fact that we literally cannot afford to make government welfare available for everyone in the world? By saying that I mean, there has to be a line drawn somewhere, right? Apparently not. Forget the fact that we already don't have enough money to fund the current liabilities with Social Security and Medicare- that apparently does not matter either.  Will we ever have a return to rationality in politics? What does it say for our education system- when an entire section of society thinks you can pay out 10 trillion dollars worth of benefits with 4 trillion dollars worth of income? What is Liberty?
<p>What is Liberty? It's a rather cliche word that we use all the time, but when asked, I don't think many could give their definition of the word. Today I offered up my definition. I hope this helps.&nbsp;</p> <p>Liberty is YOU. It's everything that makes you a unique individual.&nbsp;</p> <p>It's your- thoughts</p> <ul> <li>words</li> <li>actions</li> <li>needs</li> <li>wants</li> <li>desires</li> <li>aspirations</li> <li>likes&nbsp;</li> <li>dislikes</li> <li>What you want to do in your life</li> <li>Who you spend your life with</li> <li>Who you worship</li> <li>and who you don't</li> </ul> <p>The important part to remember about "Liberty" is that it's you and everything that makes you, you. This liberty comes with a mutual understanding. Everyone else has that same liberty, too. Neither party may act in a way that impedes the other's ability to act on those things. Your liberty cannot not remove the liberties of another individual.&nbsp;</p> <p>In shorter words: Your Liberty ends, where another's begins.&nbsp;</p> <p>When we say we care about "Liberty." That's what we mean. That's why we're Libertarians.&nbsp;</p> <p><br></p> <p><strong>Visit</strong><a href="http://www.goodmorningliberty.us/"><strong> </strong><u><strong>www.goodmorningliberty.us</strong></u></a><strong> for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology.</strong></p> <p><strong>Visit</strong><a href="http://www.bernielies.com/"><strong> </strong><u><strong>www.BernieLies.com</strong></u></a><strong> if you want to read specifically about the many lies told by one of America's greatest manipulators.</strong></p> <p><strong>Get your own "Bernie Lies" T-Shirt on our</strong><a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/goodmorningliberty"><strong> </strong><u><strong>Etsy store.</strong></u></a></p> <p><strong>In Liberty,</strong></p> <p><strong>Charlie &amp; Nate</strong></p> <p><strong>P.S. In the conversation, this person asserted that Amazon is essentially a "monopoly." This is a common theme thrown about by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, and unfortunately it's a theme that has stuck with those on the left and even some of those on the right.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>What is a monopoly? Is it simply a large share of any given market? Or is it more complicated than that? For example, you might open the first tattoo shop in your small home town, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have a monopoly. Why? Because you aren't doing anything to keep other competitors from entering that market.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>In that same light, can we simply state that Amazon is a monopoly? A quick dive into the figures will show you that they only constitute 49% of all online retail sales, and an even smaller number, 5%, of a retail sales in general. Can we seriously state that a business that only makes up 5% of a total market is obviously a monopoly? <p>Today on the podcast, we once again discussed Greta Thunberg, and our opinion that she is the victim of mental abuse. Not from those on the right that are critiquing her, but by her parents, the leftists, and the media for raising her under the notion that her world will soon be destroyed. You can read our article laying out this point <a href="https://www.goodmorningliberty.us/post/greta-thunberg-is-a-victim-of-mental-abuse-perpetrated-by-her-parents-and-the-hysteria-of-the-left" rel="noopener" target="_top"><u>here.</u></a><br> </p> <p>The other issue we discussed is a <a href="https://www.heliyon.com/article/e02314#Conclusions" rel="noopener" target="_top"><u>new study</u></a> from the Environmental Working Group stating that as many as <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/sep/19/tap-water-contaminants-linked-with-cancer-cases-study" rel="noopener" target="_top"><u>100,000 cases of cancer</u></a> could arise over a lifetime that are linked to contaminants legally found in your drinking water. The study's lead author said, "We want people to realize that water that meets legal specifications may still cause health risks based on the latest science." Ah, "the latest science...." I'm sure that prior to this study the science was "settled."</p> <p>If this is the case, do those suffering from related cancers have any legal redress against the government for providing water that causes cancer? Probably not. My thoughts immediately go to the famous Erin Brockovich story, where residents of Hinkley, CA sued PG &amp; E for providing them with contaminated water. They received $400M in a class action suit, which applied here would mean someone is liable for around $40 billion in damages. If it is found that it is "the government" that is liable, then no one wins. Heck, even if the government did pay up, it would be with your money. Imagine if PG&amp;E could have seized Hinkley's bank accounts to pay the settlement owed to the residents.</p> <p>Get the link to our podcast on your favorite podcast app <a href="http://www.gmlconnect.com/" rel="noopener" target="_top"><u>here.</u></a></p> <p>Young Americans for Liberty is an amazing organization doing great work around the country on hundreds of college campuses. New Netflix Documentary Accidentally Shows How ...
Hey everyone! First off, please subscribe to the show by clicking this link.  Today we talked about Netflix's new documentary on Bill Gates, and the "Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation." In the new documentary, Netflix details how Gates is using his massive wealth to eradicate diseases in Africa, and even how he effectively reinvented nuclear power technology.  Gates, along with his wife, and billionaire investor Warren Buffet have combined their wealth to pursue philanthropy around the world. This is a great thing, and I think it sets the model for how other billionaires should use their massive stock piles of wealth. The other point that needs to be made is that all of the work they are doing would not be possible if not for the incentives created by Capitalism. Yes, Capitalism can indeed continue it's evil quest to continue saving the entire world.  We also detail Gates' reinvention of Nuclear power. Nuclear is seen as dangerous by almost everybody. Even Gates admits that his battle is with "public perception." Why is that his battle? Because the government regulates the industry, and the government is known to bend to public perception, even when the public is flat out wrong.  How could they be wrong? What about Fukushima, Chernobyl, and 3-Mile Island?  Gates, along with a massive group of scientists, have completely reinvented Nuclear power. Their new plant emits 0 carbon emissions, and runs on an entirely different system than our current "slide-rule" era power plants. Using depleted uranium is just the start. They also developed a new way to cool the reactor using liquid metal, not the water based cooling system that has failed and caused the meltdowns in the past.  All of the new innovations aside, Gates can't get around the Department of Energy's regulations on Nuclear power. One workaround to test the new plant was to build in China, a country that is still heavily invested in nuclear energy. That plan, however, was foiled by the recent trade war in which the Department of Energy refused to renew licenses for companies operating in China.  Could Gates have actually solved the left's "Climate Crisis?" Maybe so. That begs the question: Why won't they acknowledge nuclear energy as a possibility. In speculation, I would say that liberals are reluctant to speak of solutions that don't require massive growth of government, and a massive hike in taxation. Hey Kids, Climate Alarmists Have Been Flat-out ...
Hey everyone! First off, please subscribe to the show by clicking this link.  From our article: Yesterday, "Teen Activists" Jamie Margolin, and Greta Thunberg went in front of congress to berate them about doing nothing on the issue of Climate Change. They called Republican lawmakers "Shameful" and "Cowardly." Here's the problem: Kids don’t know anything, other than what they've been told. That's why the left and the right so commonly spare over education. They are parrots. If you ask a kid to say something, and then turn the camera on, they'll say it. Children are now being used by the left to make cute videos about complex issues, and since it's a child talking- the content and the messenger are protected from criticism. This girl has not considered the economic repercussions of taking all of the money in our entire economy and putting it behind technology that isn't even fully developed. If this 17 year old girl were telling you that she loved her boyfriend and knew that they were going to spend the rest of their life together, your immediate response would be "sure kid, I get it, but you don't even understand how much you don't understand about relationships." It’s actually a great representation of the ideological views on the left. Ignorantly spewing feelings, seldom backed by long term data, and wishing that no one could challenge your beliefs. Well, they have that outcome in using children. Visit www.goodmorningliberty.us to continue reading.. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hey everyone!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">First off, please subscribe to the show by clicking this</span> <a href= "https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/good-morning-liberty/id1312689810"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">link. </span></a></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Today we talked about this weekend's biggest controversy. That's right, it's time to talk about Brett Kavanaugh again. Apparently the left are out of fresh talking points and would like your attention diverted to the ongoing "War on Women."</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We also discussed the real issue from the weekend. That's the bombing that took place on the oil fields in Saudi Arabia. The U.S. is of course blaming Iran, and is "locked and loaded" ready to do the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's bidding at the moment of their choosing. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why is it our job to conduct the first strike on Iran? Saudi Arabia has a military- a pretty big one. They actually spend 8x more money than Iran on their military. They are in fact the 3rd largest military in relation to GDP in the world, and #2 in relation to their Government budget. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Saudi is a nation of 30 million people. That makes them matched with Canada and Australia in population size. Not exactly a tiny country that cannot be expected to defend itself. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When we look at the desire for war held by those on the right, and even the left, we need to ask who we are defending, and why. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Saudi Arabia has a terrible history when it comes to human rights. Their treatment of women is despicable. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Women are still not allowed to travel or conduct business without permission from their male guardians. They only last year received the right to drive a car. They are not allowed to swear an oath in court- their male guardian must swear the oath. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They have a deep and ongoing history of persecution against homosexuals, and women who step out of line. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why are we ready to send our son, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters, to die for them?</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why are we so eager to die for them, when they have their own military? Why is it not on S.A. to retaliate against Iran? </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.goodmorningliberty.us/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.goodmorningliberty.us</span></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.bernielies.com/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.BernieLies.com</span></a> <span style= "font-weight: 400;">if you want to read specifically about the many lies told by one of America's greatest manipulators. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Get your own "Bernie Lies" T-Shirt on our</span> <a href= "https://www.etsy.com/shop/goodmorningliberty"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">Etsy store.</span></a></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In Liberty, </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Charlie & Nate</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">P.S. First, I'd ague that they have had a great effect on the economy, but let's dissect why they aren't looking as good in action as they did on paper. </p> <div class= "XzvDs _208Ie _2Dym_ blog-post-text-font blog-post-text-color _2p1aK _2R0Lu _2Dym_">  </div> <p class= "XzvDs _208Ie _2Dym_ blog-post-text-font blog-post-text-color _2p1aK _2R0Lu _2Dym_"> The Trump tax cuts were a big win for big corporations, as well as a big win for all the small corporations that we seem to ignore. We highly recommend you visit YALiberty.org to see how you can help the cause.</span></p> <p>My talk is about the psychology behind our political arguments that we all have on a daily basis. We often find ourselves feeling as though we are beating our heads against a brick wall, and that may in fact be what we are doing. </p> <p>We've all got different personalities. Some of us react more to sensitive and emotional arguments, and some of us react to logic-based objective arguments. The fact is, most of the country reacts to the emotional side of an argument. My goal is to think about how we as Libertarians can learn to tailor our topics to fit the mindset of <strong><em>normal</em></strong> people. It can be hard to do, but I believe that in doing this we can find a way to get others to consider our viewpoints. </p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.goodmorningliberty.us/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.goodmorningliberty.us</span></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.bernielies.com/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.BernieLies.com</span></a> <span style= "font-weight: 400;">if you want to read specifically about the many lies told by one of America's greatest manipulators. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Get your own "Bernie Lies" T-Shirt on our</span> <a href= "https://www.etsy.com/shop/goodmorningliberty"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">Etsy store.</span></a></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In Liberty, </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Charlie & Nate</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">P.S. As a libertarian/free market podcast, we cannot support tariffs on goods and services from other countries. </p> <p>However, I do believe that there are good reasons behind the actions taken on China. Those actions are when it involves Intellectual Property stolen from American companies. If the government has one job, it's to protect property, and to me that does extend to intellectual property. </p> <p>Let me ask the question. If President Obama said "I hereby order private American companies to..." What would have been your reaction? Mine is the same when it comes from Trump, as if it would have been if it came from Obama. Can you say the same?</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.goodmorningliberty.us/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.goodmorningliberty.us</span></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">for more great articles on politics, economics, and Libertarian ideology.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visit</span> <a href= "http://www.bernielies.com/"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">www.BernieLies.com</span></a> <span style= "font-weight: 400;">if you want to read specifically about the many lies told by one of America's greatest manipulators. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Get your own "Bernie Lies" T-Shirt on our</span> <a href= "https://www.etsy.com/shop/goodmorningliberty"><span style= "font-weight: 400;">Etsy store.</span></a></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In Liberty, </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Charlie & Nate</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">P.S. Vicky is running on the Libertarian Party ticket against an intrenched incumbent in District 37 of Mississippi. </p> <p>We originally met Vicky at the Young Americans for Liberty convention in Memphis, TN, and after listening to this interview you'll see why she made a great impression. </p> <p>On the podcast we discuss her proposals for change in everything involving national & state policies on education, your right to bear arms, criminal justice reform, tax policy, as well as many other issues facing the people of her district. </p> <p>Running against an incumbent can be hard, but she's up for the task.
