I am absolutely honored to have with us Wheelchair Tennis Professional, Dana Mathewson. When I originally heard Dana's story, I knew I had to get her on the pod. Dana has had Paralympic experiences and also numerous grand slam wheelchair tennis experiences, including competing at the past three US Opens. One of the coolest things about conducting my podcast is being introduced to and meeting such amazing guests and hearing their awesome journeys through the sport of tennis. Tonight we have with us Coach Todd Wojtkowski who is in his 12th season at the helm of the Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team and has built Case Western into one of the top programs in Division III during his time with the squad. Before the 2020 season was cut short, his Case Western Reserve Spartans compiled an 18-1 record and were ranked 9th in the ITA poll while also holding the 2nd highest Team UTR in D3. He’s coached two national champions, six All-Americans and has amassed over 200 wins in just 12 seasons. He was recently awarded the 2019 USPTA Midwest College Coach of the Year. Denny was the Head Tennis Coach of the Wisconsin Badgers from 1972-1981; he was a 2008 Inductee into the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame; he has served on a number of committees at across various levels…more numbers than I can count, and has currently been focusing on his company, Tennis Priorities, where Denny works with placing professional tennis coaches at various tennis clubs throughout Indianapolis, Milwaukee, the Greater Wisconsin Region and also the Chicagoland area.

Recorded Pre-COVID-19, we are so happy to have with us on tonight, the Head Coach of both the Men’s and Women’s teams for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, Coach Frank Barnes. Coach Barnes has been the men’s head tennis coach since 2002 and the women’s head tennis coach since 2003. Both teams have recently experienced some of the best years in school history. Coach Barnes is also the director of the Warhawk Tennis Camps, one of the top summer tennis camp programs in the country.

Such a fun time talking to New Trier Trevians Boys Head Tennis Coach Tad Eckert. Coach Eckert was the 1989 Illinois High School State Singles Champion and part of a two-time Team State Champion in 1987 and 1988 at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Coach Eckert played collegiately at the University of Notre Dame where his 1992 team finished 2nd in the NCAAs. And in Coach Eckert's 12 years as the Boys Varsity Coach at New Trier High School, he has amassed 11 Team Trophies, including 3 State Championships. John has been President for Prince Americas and also spent 17 years at Wilson Sporting Goods where he held a variety of positions including Vice President/General Manager in the Racquet Sports Division. John serves on the Board of Governors of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and chairs the Global Task Force. He also started the USTA Adult League program and became the first National League Administrator in 1980.

Tonight, we have the privilege of speaking with Pete Holtermann, a Tennis Media/Public Relations veteran. Pete has worked for the ATP Tour and for ESPN. He is the current Media Director for the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati and is also the current Media Director for the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships in Houston. He is the President and Founder of HolterMedia, Inc. In this discussion, Pete shares his experiences and also offers his advice to others who are interested in getting into the media/public relations field.

Tonight, we have Carlos Silva who joined World Team Tennis (WTT) as CEO in January of 2019 to lead the organization forward. Carlos led expansion team efforts in Las Vegas and Orlando. He also led the efforts to partner with CBS Sports and ESPN to broadcast the WTT in 2019. A veteran media and digital executive, Carlos has built and sold companies in the TV and Media convergence space over the last 25 years. He has also raised more than $250M for the startups that he has operated. Carlos sits down with David on "Court-Side with Beilinson Tennis" and discusses all things World Team Tennis.

In 2017, Steve was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in the Contributor category. The focus of our conversation is focused on Tim's son, Luke, who suffered a traumatic brain injury shortly after Tim retired from coaching college tennis. Without going into much detail of our conversation in this description, we urge you to listen to Tim speak about his unbelievable son and his amazing family.
